Prep Baseball Report Kansas/Missouri held the Underclass Invitational East at The Sports Barn in Wentzville, Missouri on January 31. Over 75 players in the 2018 and 2019 attended.

In the days to come, we will break down each position, taking a look at the middle infielder's performances today.  Player profiles have been updated with video and stats from the event.  Click on each player to see their profile.

Middle Infielders

Alex Adams, SS, Lafayette, 2018
Adams is a 6-foot-1 190-pound right-handed hitting shortstop.  He ran a 7.16 60, one of the top for the event, and has an exit velo of 88 mph, one of top RHH exit velos for the event. At the plate, Adams starts in a balanced position, linear load in back leg, minimal hand movement, to tap, short stride, quick hands, level path to extension, solid consistent contact, power potential. On the infield, fluid actions, soft hands, clean glove to hand exchange, quick release, accurate throws, 75 mph positional velo.

Tyler Bastunas, SS, Timberland, 2018
Bastunas is a 5-foot-8 140-pound right-handed hitting shortstop.  He ran a 4.74 60 and has an 81 mph exit velo.  At the plate, balanced set up, loads in lower half, aggressive swing, quick hands, level path, stays on ball, gap-to-gap approach, high percentage of line drives during batting practice. On the infield, quick feet, high three quarters release, 76 mph positional velo, arm works, quick catch and throw, projectable build with athletic actions.

Brennen Bledsoe, SS, O’Fallon (IL), 2018
Bledsoe is a 5-foot-11 120-pound right-handed hitting shortstop.  He ran an 8.00 60 and has an exit velo of 77 mph.  At the plate, Bledsoe has a middle approach, balanced set up, short stride, consistent line drives. On the infield, 64 mph positional velo, high three quarters release, quick glove-to-hand exchange, quick release, accurate throws.

Michael Collins, 2B, Francis Howell, 2018
Collins is a 5-foot-11 165-pound right-handed hitting shortstop.  He ran 7.65 60 and has an exit velo of 82 mph.  At the plate, starts with wide stance, short stride, strong hands with level bat path,  line drives to middle/opposite side of field.  On the infield, 73 mph positional infield, high three quarters arm slot, clean exchange with fluid footwork, accurate throws. 

Jacob Crayne, SS, McCluer North, 2018
Crayne is a 5-foot-9 155-pound left-hitting shortstop.  He ran a 7.59 60 and had an exit velo of 78 mph.  At the plate, starts with open stance, controlled body during swing, consistent line drives to pull side, quick bat speed.  On the infield, high three quarters release, made all plays cleanly, fluid footwork, clean exchange, mostly accurate throws, 68 mph infield velo.

Cooper Day, SS, Grain Valley, 2018
Day is a 5-foot-8 125-pound right-handed hitting shortstop. Day runs a 8.25 60 and has an exit velo of 71 mph.  At the plate, balanced set up, loads in back leg, loose hands, gap-to-gap approach, repeats swing.  On the infield, 70 mph positional velo, high three-quarters arm slot, arm works, momentum towards target, soft hands with a clean transfer, accurate throws.

Justin Dietiker, 2B, Troy Buchanon, 2019
Dietiker is a 5-foot-8 130-pound right-handed hitting outfielder.  He runs a 7.19 60, one of the fastest for the event, and has an 77 mph exit velo. At the plate, athletic set up, loads in back leg, closed stride, line drives to the middle of the field during batting practice. On the infield, quick catch and throw, high three-quarters arm slot, loose arm action, aggressive to the ball with feet, athletic actions, 70 mph positional velo, accurate throws.

Jacob Dominguez, 2B, McCluer North, 2018
Dominguez is a 5-foot-8 145-pound right-handed hitting second baseman.  He ran a 7.89 60 and has an exit velo of 77 mph.  At the plate, balanced set up, loads hands in sync with short stride, swings bat with some looseness in hands, line drives to the middle of the field during batting practice.  On the infield, 63 mph positional velo, over the top release, quick glove to hand transfer and throw, fluid footwork, mostly accurate throws.

Louis Eckelkamp, SS, St. Francis Borgia, 2019
Eckelkamp is a strong 5-foot-7 175-pound right-handed hitting shortstop.  He ran a 7.39 60 had a 84 mph exit velo. At the plate, Eckelkamp has an aggressive swing, with intent to hit the ball hard, open stance, leg kick, in stride, loose hands, pull power.  On the infield, 72 mph positional velo, fluid foot with clean exchange, momentum through the catch, high three quarters release, accurate throws. 

Jacob Farkas, 2B, Francis Howell North, 2018
Farkas is a 5-foot-8 135-pound right-handed hitting second baseman.  He ran a  7.71 60 and has an exit velo of 74 mph. At the plate, balanced stance, short stride, minimal load, level path though the zone, swing produced line drives to middle of the cage.  On the infield, smooth footwork, quick catch and throw, quick transfer, fields ball in athletic position, mostly accurate throws, 61 mph infiel velo.

Tyler Fogarty, 2B, Chaminade, 2019
Fogarty is a 5-foot-7 145-pound right-handed hitting second baseman.  He ran a 7.50 60 and has an exit velo of 77 mph.  At the plate, simple and repeatable swing, starts in althletic position, leg kick, short stride, loose hands, balanced finish, gap-to-gap approach.  On the infield, smooth fielders, arm works from three quarters arm slot, fluid foot work, clean exchange, mostly accurate throws, 65 mph positional velo.

Chase Gibson, 2B, Lutheran St. Charles, 2018
Gibson is a 5-foot-9 170-pound right-handed hitting second baseman.  He ran a 8.75 60 and has an exit velo of 67 mph. At the plate, balanced set up, in line stide with minimal load, loose hands, level bat path to extension, gap-to-gap approach, pull power.   On the infield, over the top release, clean exchange with fluid footwork, plays through catch, shows ability to start double play at first base, infield velo is 69.

Tucker Jones, 2B, Francis Howell Central, 2018
Jones is a 5-foot-7 145-pound right-handed hitting second baseman.  He ran a 8.51 60 and has an exit velo of 74 mph. At the plate, starts in a balanced position, linear load in legs, small toe tap step, short stride, level swing path, gap-to-gap approach.  On the infield, over the top release, attacks ball with fluid footwork, quick exchange and release, mostly accurate throws, 66 mph positional velo.

Will Kaiser, SS, Chaminade, 2018
Kaiser is a 6-foot 165-pound right-handed hitting shortstop.  He ran a 8.00 60 and has an exit velo of  70 mph.  At the plate, quick in line stride from balanced stance, quick hands, level path, line drives to the middle of the field, uses whole field, balanced finish, on the infield, 70 mph positional velo, high three quarters release, quick feet, plays through the catch, arm works, accurate throws.

Jake Kane, SS, Timberland, 2018
Kane is a 5-foot-10 155-pound right-handed hitting shortstop.  He ran a 7.65 60 and has an exit velo of 83 mph.  At the plate, starts in open stance, line drives to middle and opposite gap, stays on top of ball, quick hands through the zone.  On the infield, 71 mph positional velo, over the top release, quick footwork, clean exchanges, accurate throws. 

Aaron Klar, SS, Vianney, 2018
Klar is a 5-foot-8 145-pound left-handed hitting shortstop.  He ran a 7.39 60 and has an a 72 mph exit velo. Klar has a simple and repeatable swing, open stance, in line stride, level path, feel for the barrel, stays inside ball, uses whole field during batting practice, consistent line drives.  On the infield, 72 mph infield velo, soft hands, quick exchange, over the top release, plays through the ball, athletic actions, accurate throws.

Kobe Knisley, SS, Timberland, 2019
Knisley is a 6-foot 160-pound right-handed hitting shortstop.  He ran a 8.09 60 and has an exit velo of 70 mph.  At the plate, starts in balanced position, short stride, smooth load, minimal hand movement in load, middle to oppo approach, line drives gap-to-gap.  On the infield, 67 mph positional velo, over the top release, clean exchange with fluid footwork, plays through the ball, accurate throws.

Christian Loida, 2B, Valle Catholic, 2018
Loida is a physical 5-foot-11 180-pound right-handed hitting second baseman.  He ran a 7.71 60 and has an exit velo of 85 mph. At the plate, had a good round of batting practice, solid consistent contact to middle/pull side, loose and quick hands, no wasted movement during load, body stays under control.  On the infield, 67 mph positional velo, over the top release, clean exchange with fluid footwork, showed athleticism, accurate throws. 

Eddie Martin, SS, Festus, 2019
Martin is a 5-foot-10 165-pound right-handed hitting shortstop.  He ran a 7.71 60 and has an exit velo of 77 mph. At the plate, starts in crouched position, load in back leg, picks leg up and sets it down, quick hands, middle to pull line drives.  On the infield, 75 mph positional velo, high three quarters release, fluid actions, with clean exchange and release, accurate throws. 

Eliyah Reed, SS, Brentwood, 2019
Reed is a 5-foot-9 155-pound right-handed hitting shortstop.  He ran a 7.95 60 and had a 75 mph exit velo.  At the plate, athletic set up, early load to stride, stays inline, quick hands, short to contact, swing produces line drive to opp gap.  On the infield, 76 mph positional velo, over the top release, long arm circle, plays through the ball, quick feet, clean transfer, arm works, mostly accurate throws.

Brody Roach, SS, Lutheran St Charles, 2018
Roach is a 6-foot 170-pound right-handed hitting shortstop.  He ran a 7.38 60 and had an 83 mph exit velo. At the plate, athletic set up, no wasted movement in load, short path to contact, consistent solid contact during batting practice, gap-to-gap approach, repeats swing.  On the infield, 72 mph positional velo, ball gets in and out of glove, high three quarters release, athletic footwork to good fielding positon, athletic actions, mostly accurate throws. 

Dillon Ruble, SS, St. Charles, 2018
Ruble is a 5-foot-9 130-pound right-handed hitting shortstop.  He ran a 7.90 60 and has an exit velo of 75 mph. At the plate, balanced set up, smooth load, quick leg lift to inline stride, level swing though hitting zone, middle to pull line drives.  On the infield, 74 mph positional velo, fields ball in athletic position, clean exchange, fluid footwork, over the top release, plays through the catch, mostly accurate throws.

Nick Schmidt, SS, Holt, 2018
Schmidt is a 6-foot-2 180-pound right-handed hitting shortstop.  He ran a 7.76 60 and had an exit velo of 82 mph. At the plate, controlled front foot, slight dive with stride foot, loose hands, pull power, short to contact, stays on ball through extension, gap-to-gap approach.  On the infield, athletic actions, quick transfer and throw, 81 mph positional velo,  one of top velos for the event, fluid footwork, momentum towards 1B to throw, mostly accurate throws.

Gunnar Seams, 2B, St. James, 2018
Seams is a 5-foot-10 165-pound right-handed hitting second baseman.  He ran a 7.50 60 and has an exit velo of 82 mph.  At the plate, open stance, in line stride, smooth rhythm, swing produces lines drives to middle of the field, body stays under control, level bat path.  On the infield, over the top release, 73 mph positional velo, arm works, fluid footwork, clean transfer, momentum through catch.

Jacob Stoker, SS, Homeschool, 2018
Stoker is a 5-foot-11 153-pound right-handed hitting shortstop.  He ran a 7.58 60 and has an exit velo of 79 mph.  At the plate, athletic set up, smooth load, no wasted movement, loose hands, level to extension.  On the infield, high three quarters release, 75 mph positional velo, quick feet, fields in athletic position, clean transfer and throw. 

Robby Taul, SS, Alton (IL), 2019
Taul is a 6-foot 150-pound right-handed hitting shortstop.  He ran a 7.64 60 and has an exit velo of 81 mph. At the plate, swing produced solid consistent contact to the middle and pull side of field, athletic set up, linear load in back leg, to touch, level to extension, feel for the barrel.  On the infield, athletic actions, high three quarters release, quick transfer and release, accurate throws, 73 mph positional velo.

Mitchell Winn, SS, Liberty (Wentzville), 2019
Winn is a 6-foot-1 213-pound right-handed hitting shortstop.  He ran a 7.88 60 and has an exit velo of  91 mph, one of the top for the event.  At the plate, simple and repeatable swing, no wasted movement in load, free and loose hands, gap-to-gap approach.  On the infield, 78 mph positional velo, one of the top for the event, short over the top release, fluid foowork, clean exchange and throw, accurate throws.
