Dylan Carrender, from Lee's Summit North HS, showed well at our 11.3 Prospect ID Showcase in Topeka, Kansas earlier this month.  He posted a top infield throwing velocity at 85 mph, recorded a 7.11 60, and had an exit velocity of 85 mph.  At shortstop Carrender showed good actions and a strong arm.  At the plate he demonstrated good balance throughout his swing and the ability to drive the ball in the gaps.

The athletic 6-foot 175-pound SS/3B is getting interest from Johnson County, Pratt and Crowder Community Colleges.  Over the summer, he visited Newman University in Wichita, but has not made a decision on where he will play college baseball.  Last summer and fall he played for the Midwest Black Sox organization, based in Overland Park, KS.

Carrender played varsity for the past two seasons, leading the Broncos to a 12-12 record and an appearance in the district championship in 2013. He batted .305 last season and has set his goals high for the upcoming season,"I would like to earn all-conference honors and have a batting average above .350," Carrender says.

Carrender has a 2.6 GPA and a 24 ACT.
