On Thursday, PBR Mississippi was on the campus of Meridian Community College for day four of the State Games of Mississippi All-Star baseball action. The day's action would be affected by the weather as storms rolled in, forcing action to be postponed until Friday.

Here are a couple quick noteable points from the days games.

District 8 defeats District 5, 11-0

+ Mississippi State University recruit, 2018 Landon Jordan (Hancock) is a left-handed hitter with quite mechanics, fluid load, while maintaining rhythm and balance throughout. Jordan was consistently on time, with short compact swing, rotational path and proportional strength at contact. Jordan showed ability to make consistent hard contact and get to middle of the field, hit a stand up double off the center field wall.

+ Pearl River Community College recruit, 2018 Kasey Donaldson (West Harrison) is a left-handed pitcher with a short, quick arm action, throwing from a high-3/4 slot. Donaldson showed fastball that had natural arm side run at 83-86 mph, breaking ball with 2/7 shape at 69-70 mph and flashed changeup at 71 mph. Donaldson had a solid outing throwing five scoreless inning.

District 7 defeats District 1, 11-1

+ Left-handed pitcher Kole Alford, (North Pike) has a long, loose arm action. Alford showed ability to command fastball and maintain velocity at 81-83 mph and threw a breaking ball with 2/8-shape, loose, developing spin. Alford threw a quality six and one third innings allowing one run.

+ 2019 Parker Phillips (North Pike) is a right-handed hitter with fluid, consistent rhythm and high hands. Phillips has developing bat speed and strength but made solid contact all day, recording multiple hits. As a third baseman, Phillips showed atypical defensive action but fielded balls well and made accurate throws to first.

This game got off to a slow start as rain came in and delayed action.

+ 2018 Walker Burchfield (Clinton) is a right-handed pitcher with strong, projectable frame that throws from a high-3/4 arm slot. Burchfield struggled with command earlier but settled in and sat 80-83 mph with fastball while touching an 85 mph; also flashed a breaking ball with 11/5 shape at 68-69 mph with solid depth.

+ 2018 Jonathan Allen (Parklane Ac.) is a right-handed pitcher with projectable frame throwing from a high-3/4 release, and solid arm strength. Allen’s velocity fluctuated between 83-88 mph while touching an 89 mph, while showing inconsistency in delivery and struggled to repeat, only threw two innings.
