Keys to the Game:

Wesleyan Christian Academy
+  Wesleyan scored three runs in the 2nd. Brett Kerry started the inning with a double and scored on a single by Matthew Nusdeo. Nusdeo moved up on a single by Nick Boles and scored when an outfielder overran the ball. Boles also scored when Mark McLamb tried to sacrifice him over and there was a throwing error.
+ Wesleyan blew the doors open in the fifth with seven runs. Patrick Bailey led off with a laser double to right field and scored on a single and E7. The single came from Caleb Cozart, who was driven home on a single by Brett Kerry with two outs. That's when the merry-go-round started. High Point Christian

+ High Point got a run back in the third when Zach Krpejs doubled, moved up on a single and scored on a sacrifice fly. That's all they would get.
+ Colin Best (2018, RHP) – 3.1IP, 4H, 4ER, 2K – Tall, lanky strike thrower.  Loose, easy delivery at 83-84.

Lake Norman Dominates in All Phases vs Rival Mooresville

In 3rd round action of the NCHSAA state playoffs, cross-town rivals squared off with Mooresville travelling to Lake Norman.  Mooresville started Senior lefty Drew Miller to combat the left-handed load lineup of Lake Norman.  With the first four hitters in the line up left handed, the Wildcats did a good job of competing in the box and wearing down Mooresville’s pitching.

In the 3rd, JP Perez homered to right to take the final wind out of Mooresville’s sails.  Perez also started on the mound, working 4 strong no-hit innings.  2020 LHP Cameran Arnold threw a hitless 5th.  Lake Norman would later add six in the 5th to win in a no-hit, 5-inning run rule, 11-1.
