The Hotlist: Risers In 2017 Overall Rankings Update

By Nathan Rode and PBR Staff

The 2017 Overall Rankings have been updated following the fall season. There were plenty of shakeups in the Top 400, especially at the top with a new No. 1. For this week’s Hotlist, our state directors take a look at players that climbed the rankings in the latest edition.

Bryce Bonnin, SS/RHP, Barbers Hill HS, TX
An Arkansas recruit, Bonnin has a lean frame with long limbs at 6-foot-1, 180 pounds and is wiry strong. He works from a 3/4 slot with a long arm action and smooth, up-tempo delivery. He had a solid outing at the Area Code Games and capped the year with a strong performance in Jupiter, sitting 90-92 mph in the first inning and settling into the 89-91 range. His slider is a swing-and-miss pitch with good tilt at 80-82.
