Connecticut Spotlight Game: Holy Cross vs Housatonic Regional

Bristol, CT -- In a CIAC Class S semifinal matchup at Muzzy Field, #1 seed Holy Cross defeated #5 seed Housatonic Regional 3-1.

Housatonic Regional scored their lone run in the top of the 1st. Scott Dignacco (2017) singled to begin the game and after stealing both second and third base, a throwing error allowed him to score.

Holy Cross went scoreless in the first 3 innings, but scored 3 runs in the bottom of the 4th inning despite not getting a hit. In fact, they did not record a hit the entire game.

In the bottom of the 4th, Matt Bonvicini (2017), Tim Zupkus (2019), and Michael Keating (2017) all walked. Connor Goggin (2019) reached base on catcher’s interference and then a throwing error brought in two runs.

That would be it for the scoring in this game, as both pitchers pitched very well in this game. All four runs that were scored were unearned.
