New England Top Five Breakdown: Top Viewed Prospect Profiles for Massachusetts - #3 Matt Tabor

Matt Tabor#3 Matt Tabor, RHP, Milron Academy, 2017 (Elon commit)
Background: Tabor is a 6-foot, 160-pound right-handed pitcher. The righty sits in the low to mid-80s on the fastball while sprinkling in two offspeed pitches to compliment the heater. The fastball has run and life to it. The breaking pitch and the changeup are above average at this point as well. The thin frame leads you to believe he can add pounds, which will help the velocity jump. Throws strikes now and competes. Handles the running game and has swagger when he pitches.

Tabor also shows some skill in the field and at the plate. As a positional player, ran just a 7.70 60-yard dash, but showed an above average glove and easy throwing path to first. Threw 79 mph from shortstop with ease and good footwork. The bat is loose and the hands work, tee exit velocity of 84 mph.

Tabor has been a common fixture at our showcases, including the 2015 PBR Futures Game in Indiana. Tabor will look to continue to progress as an athlete and student over the next few years in high school before heading to Elon to compete for the Phoenix.
