New England Top Five Breakdown: Top Viewed Prospect Profiles for Massachusetts - #4 Jackson Gillis

#4 Jackson Gillis, LHP, 2016 (Vanderbilt commit)
Background: Gillis is a 6-foot-2, 200-pound left-handed pitcher who has committed to the University of Vanderbilt. Jackson is a power left-hander who pitches in the upper-80s now with a ton of life on his fastball. He repeats his delivery, is a very good athlete and handles the running game well. The shape of the breaking ball is correct and in time could become an out pitch for the future Commodore. The shape is 11/7 and is a big at this point. The slot is a bit higher than 3/4 and the arm swing is short on the backside. The changeup is quality and the rotation of it is correct.

Gillis has been seen at some of the top showcases in the country, including the East Coast Pro, the Tournament of Stars and the Metropolitan Baseball Classic where the southpaw showed some dominant stuff.
