Scouting Reports
October 24, 2015 Our second extended look at Tyler, showed clean and accurate throws from the outfield. Tends to get hands caught up on the body and inside-outs the ball to right field. Runs well and is an experienced player who recently committed to Ulster CC.

August 22/23, 2015 Observed Tyler at the Bloomsburg University (PA) Showcase tournament where he played a clean outfield and seemed to find his rhythm at the plate, getting "on time" with his swing and showing some unexpected gap power using wood bats.  

Hudson Valley Open (August 12, 2015) Sheeley checks in at an athletic 5-foot-8 145 pounds. The outfielder only put up some respectable measurables running a 7.01 60 with a 4.45 Home to 1B. Exit velocity was 79MPH with a positional arm strength of 76 MPH. Offensively- Sheeley hits from a slightly spread stance with a heel lift and minimal gain on his stride. Hands tend to have alot of activity starting center body and moving back and forth into a shortened load just off the shoulder. Firmly planted on front side with appropriate back foot/hip rotation. Stays short and inside contact, although due to lack of separation during his load, can occasionally push through the ball. Groundball/line drive results. Defensively- Tyler stays behind the ball very well timing his approach footwork. Uses an aggressive crowhop but breaks hands a bit late causing the ball to float on his throws. Separating his hands and getting the arm action kick started earlier should help him get back on top and produce better carry. Accurate arm, should be able to adapt to all 3 outfield spots.

Sheeley shows athleticism from the OF and really just needs some time to mature and get stronger - solid commitment to attend Ulster CC where he can develop in a quality two-year program.
