The Prep Baseball Report staff have finished their 3B/MIF reports from Oct. 18th in Latham NY. Here is an in-depth look at the 3B/MIF that attended our Last Chance Showcase

Frankie Pizzo, 3B, Shenendehowa HS, NY (2016)
Pizzo stands 5-foot-9, 175-pounds with a very strong lower half. From the infield he shows next level actions, staying around the ball and through the ball on his throws. Fields the ball to his arm side, clean exchange, smooth arm action, throws from a mid-3/4 slot with above average arm strength at 85 mph. At the plate uses a small stride, short path to the ball, level bat plane, hands stay inside the ball with signs of power potential (84 mph exit velocity off a tee). Nice long extension through contact, shoulder height finish. Home to first time was 4.7, pro agility time was 4.78.

Matt Hamel, SS, CBA HS, NY (2015)
Hamel stands 6-foot-0, 165-pounds with an athletic build, and room to grow. From the infield he gets to the ball quick evidenced by his 4.28 pro agility time (5-10-5), playing around the ball and through it. He fields the ball out in front, quick clean exchange, short arm action, throws from a mid-3/4 slot at 79 mph with accurate carry. Moves well around the bag showing MIF instincts. At the plate he uses a back knee lift and load, short powerful path to the ball evidenced by his 93 mph exit velocity. Bat plane is slightly inclined, long extension out in front, high balanced finish. Unsigned senior with tremendous upside.

Justin Decker, 3B, CBA HS, NY (2015)
Decker stands 5-foot-11, 185 pounds with an athletic strong build. From the infield he uses athletic baseball actions to get to the ball. Plays the ball out in front, smooth transfer, quick release, throws from a mid-3/4 slot with 82 mph arm strength. Plus infield skill-set. At the plate he uses a relaxed setup, high hands. He uses a knee lift and stride on the pitch. Short path to the ball, fairly level bat plane through contact, shoulder height finish. 89 mph exit velocity off a tee, he ran a 4.43 pro agility time and 4.48 home to first. Next level prospect.

Austin Lawrence, SS, Columbia HS, NY (2015)
Lawrence stands 5-foot-10, 170-pounds with an athletic build. From the infield he uses above average actions fielding the ball, gets around it and through the ball on his throws. Fields smoothly out in front, clean fast exchange, short arm action, throws from a low-3/4 slot with arm strength touching 80 mph. At the plate starts with his hands relaxed, knees bent. On the pitch he loads up and back, stride for timing. Path is long to the ball, slightly uphill through the zone, finishes high, exit velocity was 80 mph. Home to first time was 4.38, pro agility time was 4.43.

Jake Generali, MIF/OF, Bethlehem HS, NY (2015)
Generali stands 5-foot-9, 175-pounds with a lean, but solid frame. From the infield he uses quick footwork, evidenced from his 4.19 home to first time, stays behind ball, quick exchanged, short arm, fast release from a mid-3/4 slot arm strength at 78 mph. At the plate he uses a back load, leg lift and stride on the pitch. Bottom arm locks up on the load. Drives hands to the ball, bat plane is level through the plane, some extension through contact, shoulder height finish, falls forward. Pro agility time was 4.18 showing above average athleticism.

Nicholas Schmid, SS, Schenectady HS, NY (2015)
10/18 - Schmid stands 5-foot-7, 130-pounds with a smaller sized frame. From the infield he attacks the ball hard, fields a little deep, clean transfer, short arm action, throws from a high-3/4 slot and shows an increase in arm strength from 67 mph to 72-74 mph. At the plate he uses a back load, small stride, keeps bat path short and plane level. He needs to focus on gaining some weight this off-season and getting stronger. I really like his desire to get better, and his passion for the game. He ran a 4.2 home to first, and a 4.5 pro agility.

Aiden Booker, MIF, Shaker HS, NY (2017)
Booker stands 5-foot-7, 145-pounds with a room for growth. From the infield he charges the ball, fields down low and out in front, clean exchange, arm action is a little long but smooth, throws from a high-3/4 slot with arm strength showing 76 mph. At the plate he uses a stride for timing, short path to the ball, slightly inclined, nice extension out in front, exit velocity of a tee was 74 mph, home to first was 4.6, pro agility time was 4.63.

PJ Parker, MIF, Voorheesville HS, NY (2018)
Parker stands 5-foot-10, 150-pounds with plenty of time to add size to his frame. From the infield he attacks the ball straight on, uses a wide approach head down, uses a fast clean exchange near the hip, short high arm action, throws from a mid-3/4 slot with arm strength at 72 mph. At the plate he uses a small stride on the pitch for timing, long bat path, uphill to the ball, extension through contact, finishes shoulder height. Exit velocity was 72 mph off a tee.
