Gregoire, a 2019 right-handed hitting catcher, stands at 5-foot-11 and weighs 200 pounds, ran a 7.64 60. Offensively- Starts from a wide square lower half, slight bend with both knees, hands in front of the back shoulder while the barrel of the bat rest on the shoulder. Gets into the launch phase of the swing using a slight shift of weight to the back side, elevating the lead foot slightly with minimal stride movement towards the pitcher with the hands loading straight back slightly inside and below the back shoulder. Hands stayed back well, behind the hip rotation, as well as getting to the ball with a compact and short movement. Drove the ball with plus power from the pull gap to the center of the field during batting practice. Recorded an impressive exit velocity of 90 MPH on the day.  Defensively-  Square primary stance with the glove presented above the left shin guard. Received the ball with a quiet hand and minimal body movement. On throws to second base, transferred the ball from the center of the body, above the shoulders. Allows the hands to get to high and far away from the body during the transfer causing a rising action with the body which hindered the accuracy and carry on throws. With a quicker and shorter transfer, the upper and lower half will be able to work more in sync and improve the throwing velocity of 72 MPH and also improve the pop time of 2.00 recorded on the day. Solid looking prospect for the class of 2019.
