Preseason Greater NYC: OF Analysis From Feb. 19th

February 19th PBR New York made its way to the Greater New York City area - Elmsford, NY for a preseason identification event at the very neat and clean - Game On 13. The smoke as finally settled, and the OF reports are final. Here's a look at the OF's from Feb. 19th.

Jason Apostle, OF, Fordham Prep, NY (2017)
Apostle stands 5-foot-8, 170-pounds with a solidly build frame. At the plate bats from the left-side. Slightly open stance, hands back. On the pitch he strides to even, loads back, path to the ball is short and quick. compact swing. Barrel gets to the ball slightly inclined through contact, high finish with balance, 80 mph exit velocity off a tee. From the OF he fields the ball in front of his glove side leg, clean quick transfer, clean arm action, throws from an over-the-top slot, arm strength at 83 mph with carry. He ran a 4.0 home-to-first time showing extreme athleticism.

Daniel Klein, OF, Harrison HS, NY (2017)
Klein stands 5-foot-11, 163-pounds with a slender build. At the plate he starts relaxed, knee lift on the pitch with a back load. Path is short, plane is mostly level through the contact zone, shoulder height finish. 80 mph exit velocity off a tee. At the OF he charges the ball hard, fields outside his glove side leg, uses a crow hop, clean arm action, throws from a high-3/4 slot, arm strength at 81 mph. He ran a 4.4 home-to-first-time.

Matthew Aventuro, OF, Fordham Prep, NY (2018)
Aventuro stands 6-foot-0, 160-pounds with solid size. At the plate he leans his weight forward, hands moving back by his shoulder. On the pitch he strides forward, short path to the ball, barrel stays mostly level through the contact zone, long extension out in front, high finish. Exit velocity was 74 mph off a tee. From the OF he aggressively charges the ball, fields outside his glove side, clean fast transfer, smooth arm action, throws from a high-3/4 slot with arm strength at 79 mph. He ran a 4.6 home-to-first-time.

Daniel Lotito, LHP, White Plains HS, NY (2016)
Lotito stands 5-foot-9, 160-pounds with a stronger build. At the plate he starts slightly open, hands back and high. On the pitch he strides to even, back loads for timing. Path is short, plane is sightly inclined through contact, extension out in front, high finish. Exit velocity was 82 mph off a tee. From the OF he fields the ball glove side, clean transfer, long arm action, throws from an over-the-top-slot, arm strength at 76 mph. He ran a 4.5 home-to-first-time.

Matteo Falcone, OF, Archbishop Stepinac HS, NY (2018)
Falcone stands 5-foot-9, 150-pounds with an athletic build. At the plate he starts slightly open, hands relaxed. On the pitch he strides to even, longer path, barrel drops some, inclined plane, some extension out in front, shoulder height finish. Exit velocity was 72 mph off a tee. From the OF he fields the ball outside his glove leg, quick transfer, short arm action, throws from an over-the-top-slot, arm strength at 74 mph. He ran a 4.68 home-to-first-time.

Matthew Crowe, OF, Dobbs Ferry HS, NY (2015)
Crowe stands 5-foot-10, 185-pounds with a solid frame. At the plate he starts with a narrow stance, hands back. On the pitch he strides long, back loads, short path to the ball, mostly level bat plane through the zone, long extension through contact, shoulder height finish. Exit velocity off a tee 77 mph. From the OF he charges the ball hard, fields in front of his glove side leg, clean transfer, back arm action, throws from a high-3/4 slot with arm strength at 67 mph. He ran 4.37 home-to-first-time.
