Shenendehowa 11 - Ballston Spa 4
The Plainsmen extended their record to 12-0 in League Play with a win over Ballston Spa yesterday.  Starting LHP pitcher Bryan Warzek went 4-1/3 innings allowing 3 hits, 3 walks, while striking out 10. Junior RHP Nik Malacowski closed out the win for Shen, not allowing a hit over 2-2/3's, striking out 5.

+ Outfielder Connor Douglas continued his hot-hitting, going 3-4 with two doubles, a triple, two runs scored, and two RBI’s.  Senior SS Josh Hayner also added two hits for Shen.

Albany Academy 6 - Schalmont 4
Despite out hitting Albany Academy, The Schalmont Sabres fell 6-4 mainly due to a big 2nd inning by the Cadets.  In the 2nd, Academy sent 10 runners to the plate, scoring 5 runs, all with two outs.

With the bases loaded 0 outs, Sabres starting pitcher Nick Bird buckled down and recorded back to back strikeouts, bringing up junior utility man Steven Verstandig.  On the first pitch, Verstandig singled through the left side scoring Carter Knapek, evening the game at 1.  Senior outfielder and Clarkson commit Nolan Duda came to the plate looking to to give Academy the lead.  On a 2-1 count, Duda delivered an opposite field double, scoring Trevor Francesconi and Rory Flaherty on the play.  The cadets would add 2 more runs on a single by senior catcher Sean Dempsey.

After a rough 2nd inning Schalmont starting pitcher Nick Bird buckled down an went the distance. Allowing 0 hits over his final 4 innings of work.  Bird struck out 7 in the outing, allowing 1 walk , and 6 hits.

Saratoga 12 - Niskayuna 3
Saratoga Springs continued its winning ways, improving to 13-2 on the season, behind a strong pitching performance by Jack Herman.  Herman a RHP went the distance, allowing 6 hits, striking out 3.  Brendan Coffey led the charge for Saratoga, collecting 3 hits, 2 rbi's and 2 runs scored.

+ Garret Whitley went 2-3 on the day for Nisky, with a triple and single.

+ For the 10th time on the season, the Blue Streaks run total has reached double figures.
