Josh Cosgrove, OF, Thomas A. Edison HS, NY (2015)
Cosgrove stands 5-foot-8 158-pounds with a strong build. With the bat he uses a leg kick for timing and lands slightly open. Short path to the ball but needs the use of back side more. Swing plane is on a slight incline through the zone with an exit velocity at 79, signs of more in the tank. In the OF he stays behind the ball well using a crow hop to get in a power position for his throws. He releases the ball at a high 3/4 slot and his arm strength was 78 mph.

Analysis:
Cosgrove has a solid foundation already underneath him, he just needs to continue to work hard and focus on his arm strength. He is on a serious overall strengthening program this winter that should elevate his game to new heights. The program is designed to strengthen up his wrists and quicken his bat speed at the plate. The program is also designed for a significant increase in arm strength and velocity over a 10 week period.  Look for Cosgrove to have a big spring for the Spartans.
