2016 Spring Team Preview: Berlin Center Western Reserve Roughriders

With the 2016 spring season right around the corner, PBR Ohio is eagerly anticipating bringing the Buckeye state the best high school coverage throughout the entire state.

Starting February 1st, we began releasing team previews for teams across the state, leading into the Preseason All-State Teams as well as the Preseason State Rankings.

2016 Spring Team Preview: Berlin Center Western Reserve Roughriders

Team Name: Berlin Center Western Reserve Roughriders

Conference Record: ITCL, 12-1
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 7/3

2016 Team Strengths:

2016 Team Weaknesses:

  • Pitching depth
  • Power hitting

Coach Outlook: A lot of experience returns from last years State Championship runner-up team. Pitching is lead by Wyatt Larimer: (13-0) .097 ERA the past two years, and Lance DeZee: (3-0) 2.11 ERA. The offense is lead by seniors Jake Clark, Walker Marlowe, Drew Slaven. We return our entire infield.

  • Walker Marlowe, 2B/P, 2016, 5’11” 170, three year starter, team captain, .345 BA, 26 R, 21 RBI, 20 SB, 5 2B, 1 3B, 2-0 record, .271 ERA       
  • Jacob Clark, 1B, 2016, 6’1” 195, three year starter, .354 BA, 15 R, 3 2B, 1 3B, 10 RBI
  • Jeep Di Cioccio, 3B/P, 2017, 5’10” 175, two year starter, .319 BA, 20 R, 10 2B, 1 3B
