2016 Spring Team Preview: Carrollton Warriors

With the 2016 spring season right around the corner, PBR Ohio is eagerly anticipating bringing the Buckeye state the best high school coverage throughout the entire state.

Starting February 1st, we began releasing team previews for teams across the state, leading into the Preseason All-State Teams as well as the Preseason State Rankings.

2016 Spring Team Preview: Carrollton Warriors

Team Name: Carrollton Warriors
Head Coach: Butch Wood
Division: II
2015 Record: 6-16
Conference Record: Northern Buckeye Conference, 2-12
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 4/1

2016 Team Strengths:

  • Speed
  • Defense
  • Attitude

2016 Team Weaknesses:

  • Pitching depth
  • Lack of power

Coach Outlook: "I look for marked improvement. Our pitching depth will be a question, but our overall team speed and defense should be pretty good. With only 2 seniors, we will be young but hungry."

PBR Outlook: The Warriors will look to come out and play some improved ball in 2016 after a down 2015 campaign. Junior prospects Brian Riggs and Aidan Pasiuk are two to watch this season.

Top Returning Players:

  • Brian Riggs, LHP/1B, 5'10/190, 2 yr starter, Jr;
  • Aidan Pasiuk, SS/RHP, 5'9/170, 2 yr starter, .571 avg last season, Jr.

Top Players – Class of 2017:

  • Aidan Pasiuk, SS/RHP, 5'9, 170, R/R, will be 3 year starter a SS for us, great arm, hit .571 last season, displays some power but line drive gap hitter
