With the 2016 spring season right around the corner, PBR Ohio is eagerly anticipating bringing the Buckeye state the best high school coverage throughout the entire state.

Starting February 1st, we began releasing team previews for teams across the state, leading into the Preseason All-State Teams as well as the Preseason State Rankings.

2016 Spring Team Preview: La Salle Lancers

Team Name: La Salle Lancers

Division: I
2015 Record: 24-7
Conference Record: GCL, 5-4, 3rd
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 3

2016 Team Strengths:

• Pitching depth
• Strong senior class

2016 Team Weaknesses:

• Inexperienced in several positions
• We need to replace top notch, all around outfielders, especially defensively

Coach Outlook: We should be strong up the middle with returning starters in three of these key positions. Pitching depth is a strong point, although we need guys to step up to be the league starters. We have several starting positions that are up for grabs. This will be the key to our offense after losing our 3, 4, and 5 hitters.

• Kevin Browne, OF, SR, 6'0” 180, R/R, two year starter, led team in HR’s in 2015, .292 BA, Ashland University commit
• Tim Casey, INF, SR, 5'10” 155, three year starter, 26 R, .313 BA, Ashland University commit
• Andrew Sexton, OF, SR, 5'11” 165, All-GCL First Team, 24 R, .312 BA, Xavier University commit
• Jacob Kaiser, P/OF, SR, 6'2” 190, led team in appearances, 5-0 record, 1.05 whip, 1.92 era, University of Charleston commit
• Dana Reeves, P, SR, 5'10” 175, 2-0 record, 3.07 ERA, College of Mt. Saint Josephs commit
• Quentin Baldwin, P/INF, SR, 5'9” 160, Shawnee State University commit
• Tyler Wardwell, INF, JR, 6'0” 175, strong defensively, Duke University commit
  Jake Barford, P, SR, 3-0 record, 0.91 WHIP, 1.27 ERA
