With the 2016 spring season right around the corner, PBR Ohio is eagerly anticipating bringing the Buckeye state the best high school coverage throughout the entire state.

Starting February 1st, we began releasing team previews for teams across the state, leading into the Preseason All-State Teams as well as the Preseason State Rankings.

2016 Spring Team Preview: Mechanicsburg Indians

Team Name: Mechanicsburg Indians
Head Coach: Brian Eyink
Division: IV
2015 Record: 14-10
Conference Record: Ohio Heritage Conference, 6-8
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 7/5

2016 Team Strengths:

• Leadership
• Defense

2016 Team Weaknesses:

• Scoring runs

Coach Outlook: We are returning a lot of experienced baseball players: senior Jacob Bowers, who will be a four year varsity starter; junior Cory Bogan already has two years varsity experience; and Colton McMannis a very impressive senior, has two years under his belt at the varsity level. Newcomer Drew Myers will be a solid sophomore for us behind the plate and in the infield. Along with the very gifted junior Caleb Newsome who will help with rounding out the pitching staff as well. Junior Keane Dunn who played through an injury last year is now healthy and looking very solid at the plate and on the mound. The 2016 schedule will be a great test for us especially inside a well-rounded Ohio Heritage Conference that will be as competitive as it has been in years.
