With the 2016 spring season right around the corner, PBR Ohio is eagerly anticipating bringing the Buckeye state the best high school coverage throughout the entire state.

Starting February 1st, we began releasing team previews for teams across the state, leading into the Preseason All-State Teams as well as the Preseason State Rankings.

2016 Spring Team Preview: New Miami Vikings

Team Name: New Miami Vikings
Head Coach: Ralph Lunsford
Division: IV
2015 Record: 13-12
Conference Record: Miami Valley Conference, 1st place
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 6/3

2016 Team Strengths:

• Speed
• Coachable

2016 Team Weaknesses:

• Mound presence
• Fielding

Coach Outlook: We are young, athletic, and have a great attitude.

Top Returning Players:

• Christian Acus, JR, MINF, 5'7” 155, R/R, lead our team in almost every offensive category, two year starter, two-time All MVC 
• Austin Howard, JR, C, 5'9” 165, R/R
• Kyle Kellum, JR, 1B/3B/C, 5'10” 215, R/R
• PJ Johnston, SR, CF/RHP, 5’10” 170, R/R
• Brian Hensley, SR, SS/3B/RHP, 5’10” 170, R/R, strong leader on team, will pitch in most of the big games

Top Underclassmen:

• Wayden McIntire, SO, 1B/RF/RHP, 6’3” 180, L/R, puts the ball in play, really developed as a pitcher last year, runs well
