2016 Spring Team Preview: Riverside Pirates

Team Name: DeGraff Riverside Pirates
Head Coach: Derrick Purtee, 28-23
Division: IV
2015 Record: 16-8
Conference Record: Northwest Central Conference, 10-2
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 6/5

2016 Team Strengths:

  • Defense
  • Overall athleticism
  • Pitching depth

2016 Team Weaknesses:

  • Run production

Coach Outlook: "We return all but 2 players from last season. Including 6 of 8 position starters and 5 of our top 6 pitchers from a year ago. We are looking to build consistency in the program and take the next step toward competing for a conference championship."

PBR Outlook: Coach Purtee and the Pirates are coming off a nice 16-8 season a year ago and return plenty of experience. In 2016, the Pirates should have solid defense to go along with pitching depth and athleticism. Look for DeGraff Riverside to have a solid season and be in the rankings consideration throughout the year.
