With the 2016 spring season right around the corner, PBR Ohio is eagerly anticipating bringing the Buckeye state the best high school coverage throughout the entire state.

Starting February 1st, we began releasing team previews for teams across the state, leading into the Preseason All-State Teams as well as the Preseason State Rankings.

2016 Spring Team Preview: Swanton Bulldogs

Team Name: Swanton Bulldogs
Head Coach: Tim McCarthy
Division: III
2015 Record: 17-9
Conference Record: NWOAL, 4-4
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 4/4

2016 Team Strengths:

• Athleticism
• Small Ball
• Pitching Depth

2016 Team Weaknesses:

• Inexperience

Coach Outlook: "A talented group of underclassmen look to replace 5 starters lost to graduation."

PBR Outlook: The Swanton Bulldogs had a strong 2015 campaign with 17 wins. Coach McCarthy hopes to reload with some talented underclassmen and compete in the difficult NWOAL.

•  Jordon Nyler, SS/RHP, 2016, 5-8/195 lbs, 3 year starter, .333 BA, 30 RBI, 5-3, 1.97 ERA, second team NWOAL in 2015
• Dean Sego, DH/INF, 2016, 5-7/165 lbs, .512 OBP in 85 plate appearances
• Bryce McComb, OF/P, 6-1/170 lbs, 89 plate appearances in first year of HS baseball
• Gunnar Oakes, CF/P, 2017, 6-5/205 lbs, 2 year starter, .333 BA, 29 RBI, honorable mention NWOAL in 2015
• Marek Spiess, INF/C/P, 2018, 6-2/195, started every game as a freshman in 2015.
