2016 Spring Team Preview: Toledo St. Francis de Sales Knights

Team Name: Toledo St. Francis de Sales Knights
Head Coach: Tim Gerken
Division: I
2015 Record: 23-9
Conference Record: TRAC, N/A
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 1/3

2016 Team Strengths:

  • Speed
  • Athleticism

2016 Team Weaknesses:

  • Lack of varsity experience

Coach Outlook: Looking to rely on the "program" in 2016. Counting on several members of last year’s Junior Varsity and Freshman teams to contribute this spring. Having won two of the last three District championships, we hope that by May we will be able to compete once again. We have excellent team speed with several athletic young players getting their first taste of varsity baseball. Oregon Clay, Whitmer, Findlay, and Central Catholic should all be solid.

Top Returning Players:

  • Jay Denman, UTL/OF, .398 BA, three year starter, first team All-District, All-TRAC, played on state championship hockey team in 2014 and again on Final Four team in 2015 ( led team in total points)

Top Underclassmen:

  • Cole Grisier, LHP
  • Timmy Organ, INF, starter on regional team as a freshman
  • Carter Smith, LHP
