2016 Spring Team Preview: Valley Forge Patriots

With the 2016 spring season right around the corner, PBR Ohio is eagerly anticipating bringing the Buckeye state the best high school coverage throughout the entire state.

Starting February 1st, we began releasing team previews for teams across the state, leading into the Preseason All-State Teams as well as the Preseason State Rankings.

2016 Spring Team Preview: Valley Forge Patriots

Team Name: Valley Forge Patriots
Head Coach: Izzy Santiago Jr., 49-47

2015 Record: 9-15
Conference Record: Great Lakes Conference
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 8

2016 Team Strengths:

  • Starting Pitching
  • Defense

2016 Team Weaknesses:

  • Hitting w/ RISP

Coach Outlook: "Experienced group for 2016. Expecting Big Things."

PBR Outlook: Coach Izzy Santiago Jr. has an experienced group returning with hopes of success in 2016. Two sophomore will play key roles for the Patriots in Brandon Skory and Brendan Santiago.

  • Brandon Skory, 6'4, RHP. Started 5 games as a freshman on varsity. 3.2 ERA
  • Brendan Santiago, 6'1 RHP. Was 1st team All-Northeast Ohio Conference player as a freshman. 5-1, 2.29 ERA
