With the 2017 spring season right around the corner, PBR Ohio is eagerly anticipating bringing the Buckeye state the best high school coverage throughout the entire state.

Starting in Mid-January, we began releasing team previews for teams across the state, leading into the Preseason All-State Teams as well as the Preseason State Rankings.

2017 Spring Team Preview: Sherwood Fairview

Team Name: Sherwood Fairview

Conference Record: Green Meadows Conference, 6-1

Coach Outlook: “Coming off a successful Acme season, we are encouraged as to what our team has the potential of achieving. We have a lot of returning letterwinners that know what it takes to compete at this level. Their leadership will be critical in setting the bar for future seasons.”

Top Returning Players:

  • Justin Smith - R/R Sr. Pitcher - 6'6" : Justin went 5-1 on the season in 2016 with a 1.68 ERA and 58% FPS with 41 strikeouts
  • Nathan Puffinberger - R/R Sr. Pitcher : 6-1 with 1.2 ERA and 61% FPS with 45 strikeouts
  • Luke Breininger - R/R Sr. Catcher : Hit .304 with 10 SB has a great arm and is a solid catcher
  • Kobe Baker - R/R Sr. OF : One of the best if not the best outfielder we have had at Fairview. Hit .358 with 22 SB
  • Alex Jackson - R/R Sr. OF : .357 with 15 SB - very quick and makes good contact
  • Austin Meyer - R/R/ Sr. SS .244 with 13 SB
  • Hunter Bostater - R/R So. Inf : .422 with 16 SB and 21 RBI as a freshman - one of the best eyes for the ball we have had here at Fairview
