April 2nd Daily Scoreboard Update



DIVISION I/II TEAM RANKINGS

#1 Strongsville (4-0)


#2 Mason (5-2) beat Lakota East (2-4) by a score of 4-2 to complete a series sweep. Junior Andrew McDonald went 6 innings allowing only 2 hits for his second win of the year.  Senior Cincinnati commit Michael Conrad struck out 10 for East.  Ohio-bound Alex Corna homered to give East a 1-0 lead in the third. Mason answered when junior Drew Johnson pulled a 2-out, 2-strike pitch down the third base line in the bottom of the inning for a 2-1 lead.  Mason extended the lead to 4-1 before East answered with a run in the bottom of the seventh.

#3 Defiance (4-0) defeated Paulding 21-0 in 5 innings. Weston Rivers picked up the win going 4 innings allowing only 1 hit and struck out 9. Joe Gentile led the way at the plate for the Bulldogs  going 2-2 with 5 RBI and 3 runs scored. Anthony Kidston (Louisville recruit) was 2-2 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI.

#4 Massillon Jackson (4-0)

#5 Centerville (5-0) beat Beavercreek by a score of 10-2. Junior left-handed Nick Bertram 6 pitched innings.

#6 Grove City (6-0) beat Reynoldsburg 12-2. Mitchell Stephens picked up his 2nd win. Drew Nankivell added a triple, double and 2 RBI. Nick Davis added a double, single and 2 RBI.

#7 Elder (5-1) comes back to beat #18 St. Xavier by a score of 2-1.

#8 Walsh Jesuit (4-1) beat Lake Catholic by a score of 17-1. Junior Joe Mockbee picked up the win. Senior Anthony Nember had a three hit day at the plate. Other players with multi-hit games include Cassidy Brown, Zach Leonatti, and Drew Miletti.

#9 St. Ignatius (3-1)

#10 Moeller (5-2) beat La Salle 10-1

#11 Columbus DeSales (7-2) beat Bishop Watterson by a score of 7-2. Senior TJ Alas (Eastern Kentucky recruit) picked up the win.

#12 Mentor (1-0)

#13 Sandusky (4-0)

#14 New Albany (5-0) picked up another win with a 9-1 victory over Hilliard Bradley. Unsigned senior Shane Kriss earned the victory on the mound. 

#15 Willoughby South (1-0) beat Madison 10-0. Sophomore Dan Elliott was 2 for 2 with 2 RBI.

#16 Toledo Central Catholic (2-1) beat Cardinal Stitch by a score of 7-2.

#17 Hudson (4-0)

#18 St. Xavier (3-2) loses to #7 Elder by a score of 2-1.

#19 Norwalk (6-0)

#20 Jonathan Alder (4-1) beat Upper Arlington (2-4) by a score of 14-7.

#31 Toledo St. Johns (1-2)

#32 Pickerington Central (4-2) beat Lancaster by a score of 10-4.

#33 Findlay (5-1)

#34 Westerville Central (7-1) beat nearby rival Westerville South (2-3) by a score of 5-2. Senior Connor Sitz (Ohio University) picked up the win for the Warhawks.

#35 Anderson (5-0) beat Little Miami 6-1.

#36 Lakota East (3-2)

#37 Amherst Steele (3-2) beat Westlake (3-3) by a score of 8-4.

#38 Glen Oak (4-0)

#39 Olentangy Orange (5-0) beat Mount Vernon by a score of 6-2. Senior Luke Wolford (Dayton recruit) picked up his second of the season with a complete game performance. Wolford and junior Brady Harris lead the way on offense with multiple hit games.

#40 Perrysburg (1-1-2)

#41 Vandalia Butler (3-4) beat Greenville 11-7.

#42 Loveland (6-0) beat Glen Este 9-8.

#43 Shaker Heights (0-0)

#44 Fairfield (6-0) beat Middletown 11-6.

#45 Archbishop Hobain (4-2) beat Padua (2-3) by a score of 9-7. Both teams showed strong offenses, but two late home runs (junior Sean Trexler and senior Tom Yakubowski) pushed the Knights to victory.

#46 St. Edwards (1-2)

#47 West Holmes (5-0)

#48 Pickerington North (2-0) beat Kenston (2-2) by a score of 13-2. Matt Poland, Ryan Miller, Justin Childers, Nick Glanzman, and Mason Olszewski all had multi-hit games. Cam Huey picked up the win.

#49 North Olmsted (5-0) beat Olmsted Falls 7-1. Junior Tom Rodriguez went the distance while striking out 3 batters. Mike Starkovic went 3 for 3 with 3 runs scored.

#50 Chillicothe Unioto (4-0) improved to 5-0 with a 5-inning shutout of Ross Southeastern. Andy Tisdale threw four innings of scoreless baseball without allowing a walk. Bryce Arledge threw the 5th inning for the Tanks. Dylan Minney, Tim Trainer, and Christian Spradlin all had 2 hits in the game. 


DIVISION III/IV TEAM RANKINGS

#1 Keystone (4-1) beat Lutheran West 9-0. Senior right-handed pitcher Brandyn Sittinger (Marshall recruit) pitched a no-hitter while striking out 18 batters.

#2 Maderia (6-2) lost to Reading 6-1. Reading's Kyle Seeger picked up the win. Mike Stall, Ben Seeger, and Grayson Roberts all contributed multiple hits. 

#3 CHCA (5-1) beat St. Bernard 12-2. Senior Ted Andrews (Furman recruit) hit a two-run homerun. Senior Matt Blankenship (Indiana Wesleyan recruit) pitched a complete game, not allowing a run, and striking out 12 batters. 

#4 Carlisle (8-0) beat Northridge by a score of 11-1. Senior Alex Leach (UNOH) goes 2 for 3 as he maintains a .778 batting average with 21 hits on the season.

#5 Defiance Tinora (6-0) beat Montpelier (2-3) by a score of 22-2.

#6 Independence (5-1) beat Richmond Heights by a score of 12-0. Senior Cole Nelson pitched a one-hitter striking out 11. Sophomore Mike Martin was 2 for 2 with a triple, 2 RBI, and 2 runs scored.

#7 Summit Country Day (5-0) beat New Miami by a score of 15-0. Senior right-handed pitcher Matt Slager (ONU recruit) improved to 2-0 on the year with a complete game two hitter with nine strikeouts.

#8 Adena (5-0)

#9 Minster (3-1)

#10 Piketon (5-2) is taken down by Westfall 11-4. Junior Alek Stonerock earned the win allowing 6 hits.

#11 Coldwater (5-1) beat Lima Central Catholic (2-3) by a score of 7-2. Christian Schramm picked up the victory while pitching 5 innings and allowing one earned run. Drew Klosterman picked up the save while striking out five batters in two innings of work.Randal Muhlenkamp was 3-4 with the two triples and 2 runs scored. Matt Selhorst was 2-4 with 3 RBI, and Mitch Heyne was 2-3. Lima Central Catholic's Conner Dee had a homerun in the contest.

#15 Hamilton Badin (3-3) lost to Purcell Marian 9-7.

#16 Archbold (4-1)

#17 Bloom Carroll (4-1) adds another win with a 13-1 victory over previously unbeaten Fairfield Union (5-1).

#18 Fairview (4-1)

#19 Canton Central Catholic (3-1) beats Hudson WRA (0-3) by a score of 18-3.

#20 Ottawa-Glandorff (4-2) loses to Fort Jennings by a score of 3-0.

#21 Middletown Madison (4-0)

#22 Patrick Henry (4-2) beat Ayersville by a score of 5-2. Senior Kevin Kline picked up his second win of the season pitch 4 shut-out innings and striking out five batters. Kolby Seeman picked up the save.

#23 St. Clairsville (2-0)

#24 Seven Hills (4-0) beat North College Hill 5-0. Freshman Brian Goertemoeller was the winning pitcher earning his 2nd win on the season and 1st shutout. 

#25 Batavia (5-1) beat East Clinton 5-4.


NON-RANKED TEAM SCORES

St. Charles (6-1) beat Groveport by a score of 10-0.

Hilliard Darby (3-2) beat Worthington Kilbourne by a score of 4-2. Sophomore Jacob Niggemeyer took the loss for Kilbourne. Stephen Hernon and Connor Holdren contributed two hits a pice and Longwell picked up the win.

Logan Elm beat Canal Winchester 6-4. Junior Nick Sheumaker pitched 7 innings to earn the win and senior southpaw Anthony Vagnier (Northern Kentucky recruit) picked up the save.

Clearview (1-0) defeats Brookside (0-3). Leading the way for the Clippers was senior pitcher, Robert Branscum. Branscum threw a one-hit complete game shut out, striking out 10 in the process. Junior Ryan Vargo led the way offensively going 2 for 2 with an RBI double and a stolen base.

Bishop Ready beats CCL rival Bishop Hartley 10-5. Ross Etgen added a triple and sophomore Hunter Clanin was 3-4 with a three run homerun. Mitch McNabb went 6 innings with 9 strikeouts. 

Waynesville beat Preble Shawnee 9-4. Junior Ty Black went 3 for 4. Tyler Schrock added a triple and 3 RBI. Troy Black went 2 for 3 and Wyatt Myers went 2 for 3.

Parkway beat Van Wert 9-0. John Rollins picked up the win and Brandon Moorman had a two-hit day at the plate.

Thomas Worthington (6-0) won 12-1 in five innings against Franklin-Simpson, Ky. Thomas also won 6-0 against Morgantown (WV).

Chardon (3-1) beat Eastlake North 11-1. Senior right-handed pitcher John Martillotta (Toledo recruit) pitched a no hitter with nine strikeouts. Senior catcher Jacob Kirsh went 2 for 3 with 2 doubles.

Aurora (3-0) is starting the season well after the following wins; Cardinal (19 - 0), Twinsburg (8 - 4), and Chagrin Falls (5 - 1).

Lebanon beat Xenia 7-4. Sophomore Wes Noble got the win while allowing 3 hits and striking out 12 batters.

Turpin (7-2) defeated Walnut Hills (2-4) by a score of 10-0 in 5 innings. Sophomore Alex Capetillo threw a complete game, allowing 1 hit and fanning 4. Senior shortstop David Morton (Xavier recruit) went 3-4 with 4 RBI.

Uniontown Lake beat Louisville by a score of 5-1.

Hamilton beat Sycamore 6-1.

Lakota West beat Princeton 12-1.

Colerain beat Oak Hills 4-1.

Fenwick beat Alter 7-6.

Kirtland (4-1) beat Harvey (1-4) by a score of 8-7.

Fairport (3-0) beat Newbury (1-4) by a score of 7-0.

Holy Name (2-2) beat Cleveland Central Catholic by a score of 20-2.

Crestwood (3-4) beat Coventry 13-4. Senior David Brock pitched a complete game with 11 strikeouts.

University School (3-1) beat Lakeside 10-0.

Berea beat Avon Lake 5-0.

Barberton (3-1) beat Wadsworth (0-4) by a score of 6-5.

Northmont (4-2) beat Wayne 12-0.

Watkins Memorial (3-2) beat Big Walnut by a score of 3-0. Senior southpaw Rob Sexton (WSU recruit) struck out 10 batters in a three hitter.

Dublin Coffman (3-2) beat Central Crossing (2-3) by a score of 4-2. Unsigned senior Zak Hood picked up the win.

Westland (3-1) beat Hilliard Davidson (2-3) by a score of 4-3.

Dublin Jerome (2-3) beat Westerville North (2-3) as junior Jason Johnson came out on top of Jacob Miller (Bowling Green recruit) in a 2-1 pitcher's duel.

Olentangy beat Dublin Scioto (2-3) by a score of 4-0. Junior Casey Stanley earned the win for the Braves.

Licking Valley and first year coach Adam Arcuri continue to be an early season surprise with a victory over Columbus Academy. 

Newark Catholic (3-4) beat Whitehall (3-3) by a score of 3-0 as they continue to recover from a rough first week of play.

Granville (4-0) beat Lakewood (3-4) by a score of 16-2. 

Circleville (5-1) beat Hamilton Township (1-6) by a score of 7-1. 

Springfield Shawnee beat Bellefontaine in a back and forth 10-7 game.

Lake (2-2) beats Louisville (4-1) by a score of 5-1. 

Ridgewood (4-2) beats Malvern (0-6) by a score of 14-3.

Cardinal Mooney (3-2) beats Aquinas (2-2) by a score of 13-2.

East Liverpool (4-0) beat Carrollton (3-3) by a score of 9-2.

Ontario (5-0) beats Willard by a score of 8-4.

Maumee defeats Swanton 8-0 Junior Steven Duby, Jr (WVU recruit) goes 2 for 4 with 3 RBI.

Celina beat St. Henry by a score of 4-3.

North Central (4-1) picks up another win. Ryan Masters (Taylor University recruit) throws a complete game with 19 strikeouts. He has struck out 34 batters in 16 innings of work.
