DIVISION I/II TEAM RANKINGS

#1 Strongsville (7-1)
beat Kett. Fairmont (4-6) 8-0. Lost to #10 Moeller 6-5.

#2 Mason (8-3) lost to La Salle 6-5.

#3 Defiance (7-1) beat #28 Bowling Green 11-1 (5-inn.), lost to Bryan 5-2. Robert Zeigler took the loss against Bryan. Zeigler was consistently around 86-88, while topping out at 90 twice. Zeigler went 6 innings allowing 7 runs, 3 earned. Zeigler allowed 5 hits, 2 walks, and 2 HBP, while striking out 7. Taylor Batt went the distance in the 11-1 victory over Bowling Green. Batt allowed just 1 run, 0 earned. Batt allowed just 3 hits while walking 4 and striking out 3.

#4 Massillon Jackson (8-1) beat Revere (2-6) 10-0 (5-inn.) and Tri-Valley 3-0. Against Tri-Valley, junior Jonny Nottingham pitched a shut-out with 8 strikeouts, 4 walks, and 3 hits allowed.

#5 Centerville (9-1) lost to Hamilton 8-5. Hamilton junior Anthony Crouch struck out 8 Elk batters and allowed only 4 hits to give the Elks their first loss of season. Loveland junior Nate Jones held the Elks to just 2 hits while striking out 2, allowing no walks, and hitting one batter while pitching a complete game. Centerville junior Derek Hendrixson pitched a complete game with 4 strikeouts, 2 walks, and 1 hit allowed. The Elks come out with the win in this one 1-0 with the games only run being scored on a Loveland error. 

#6 Grove City (8-0) 

#7 Elder (9-3) beat Princeton 4-3.

#8 Walsh Jesuit (6-1) 

#9 St. Ignatius (4-1) 

#10 Moeller (7-3) beat #1 Strongsville 6-5 and lost to Fairmont 11-10.

#11 Columbus DeSales (8-2) 

#12 Mentor (4-0) 

#13 Sandusky (9-1) beat Vermilion 13-8, beat #37 Amherst (5-3) 11-2.

#14 New Albany (9-1) beat Mansfield Madison 8-6 and 12-3.

#15 Willoughby South (4-1) beat Gates, NY (4-2) by a score of 7-2. Senior Cam Knott (Mercyhurst signee) sets a school record with 12 strikeouts in the complete game performance. In their second game, they beat Dument, NJ (9-2) by a score 10-1. Schaller and Kliovan each had homeruns.

#16 Toledo Central Catholic (3-1)

#17 Hudson (7-0) beat Crestwood 10-0. Nanak Sanan surrendered one hit and struck out 3 in four innings to pick up his first win for Hudson. Ross Mclelland had a bases loaded double to plate three runs and John Taylor collected 2 singles, a double and 2 RBI.

#18 St. Xavier (4-2) 

#19 Norwalk (10-0) beat Hillsdale 20-9 and 8-0.

#20 Jonathan Alder (7-2) split with Heath (3-7) as they won 16-1 and lost 8-3.

#21 Steubenville (6-3)

#22 Ashland (8-0) beat Shelby in a doubleheader today 22-5 and 6-3. Both starting pitchers, Zach Bernhard and Tyson Vogel, gave up 1 hit apiece in 4 and 6 innings each. Adam Schaly and Derek Ward both hit homers in game 1. Schaly, Steven Mowry, Gabe Bradshaw and Vogel all had 3 hits in the first game. Vogel, Schaly and Brock Landrum all had 2 hits in the second game.

#23 Anthony Wayne (6-1) beat Edgewood 14-5.

#24 Troy (8-2) lost to Tippecanoe 4-2 and beat West Carrollton 7-1.

#25 Brunswick (7-2)  beat Dublin Coffman (4-3) 2-0 (10-inn.) and lost to Zanesville (6-2) 5-0.

#26 North Canton Hoover (8-1) beat Marlington (3-4) by scores of 12-7 and 11-5. In game one, Hoover’s Dom Iero was 4-for-5 with two RBIs, Austin Feinberg went 3-for-4 and Eric LePage added two hits and two RBIs. Dymonte Thomas had three hits and three stolen bases for the Dukes. In game two, Will Haueter finished 4-for-5 with a double, a triple and an RBI and Drew Vargo had two hits for the Vikings.

#27 Gahanna Lincoln (8-2) beat Hilliard Darby 9-1 and Teays Valley 14-4.

#28 Bowling Green (5-3) lost to #3 Defiance 11-1, beat Bryan 7-6. Daniel McKinney struggled against Defiance, going just 1 2/3 innings. McKinney allowed 7 runs, 6 earned on 5 hits. McKinney walked 4 batters and hit 2 more, while striking out 2.

#29 Canton South (7-2) split with Canton McKinley (4-2) with a 19-4 win and a 8-7 loss. In game one, Canton South’s Connor Thompson had two hits, two walks and three runs scored and Steve Wilson added two hits, two RBIs and three runs scored. In game two, Terrance Burt singled home Travonte Fields in the bottom of the eighth to give the Bulldogs the win. Burt ended with four hits, two RBIs and three runs scored.

#42 Loveland (9-1) lost 1-0 to #5 Centerville and beat Hamilton 21-3.

#44 Fairfield (10-0) beat Western Hills 16-1 and Wayne 4-3.

#45 Archbishop Hoban (7-2) beat St. Thomas (3-5) 12-3 and 10-3.

#1 Keystone (6-1) beat Firelands (6-4) 4-2. Brandyn Sittinger (Marshall recruit) threw 6 innings giving up 1 earned run and striking out 8.

#2 Maderia (8-3) beat Fayetteville Perry 15-10.

#3 CHCA (6-1) beat Franklin Road (TN) 11-1.

#4 Carlisle (10-1) beat Twin Valley South 18-2.

#5 Defiance Tinora (9-1) lost to Maumee 6-1 and beat Eastwood 7-6.

#6 Independence (6-2) 

#7 Summit Country Day (10-0) beat Goshen 5-1 and 16-1. Junior left-handed Tommy Crowl went 6 innings allowing a run and striking out 9 as he improved to 3-0 on the year. Gabe Scott (George Washington recruit) was 2 for 2 with a double. In the second game, Kenny Kerry picked up another win the mound. The offense was powered by 7 players with multi-hit games, including Gabe Scott's second home run of the season.

#8 Adena (7-1)   

#9 Minster (7-1)

#10 Piketon (8-3) defeated Lynchburg Clay 17-1 and McClain 13-2. 

#11 Coldwater (6-2) split with Piqua (5-6) with a 5-3 win and a 12-3 loss. Coldwater Sophomore Mitch Heyne was 4-5 on the day, including a solo home run in game one.

#12 Triad (8-2) 

#13 Mariemont (3-4) 

#14 Wheelersburg (7-0) beat #8 Adena twice on Saturday. Dayton recruit Austin Hall was 5 for 7 with 3 RBI on the day.

#15 Hamilton Badin (3-4) 

#16 Archbold (5-3) split with Delta (2-7) with a 7-0 loss behind Delta's Justin Callahan throwing a complete game. In the second game, Archbold won 16-2 with several players having multi-hit games.

#17 Bloom Carroll (6-2) 

#18 Fairview (7-2) lost to #20 Ottawa-Glandorf 10-0 and beat Patrick Henry 8-7.

#19 Canton Central Catholic (6-1) beat Berlin Hiland 4-3 in the game 1.For Hiland, Grant Troyer and Kevin Shrock each had 2 singles and a RBI. For CCC, Shawn Jones, Steven Montgomery, and Gunnar Smeyres each had 2 singles with Smeyres having the winning hit in the bottom of the 7th. Pitcher Brad Frohman pitched a complete game with 4 strikeouts. He raised his record to 3-0. In game 2, Canton Central Catholic beat Berlin Hiland 1-0. CCC scored an unearned run in the 1st with the help of a Jake Krupar triple. Sophomore right hander Shawn Jones tossed a complete game shut out with 5 strikeouts to during his first varsity start on the mound.

#20 Ottawa-Glandorf (8-2) beat Fairview 10-0, Patrick Henry 5-3

#21 Middletown Madison (5-0)

#22 Patrick Henry (5-4) lost to Ottawa-Glandorf 5-3, Fairview 8-7.

#23 St. Clairsville (6-2)

#24 Seven Hills (6-1) beat Aiken 6-1.

NON-RANKED TEAMS

Bryan (5-1) lost to #28 Bowling Green 7-6, beat #3 Defiance 5-2. Junior, Blake Kuszmaul allowed 2 runs on 6 hits. Kuszmaul walked 4 batters and hit another, while striking out 1. Kuszmaul velocity was consistently in the low 80's topping out at 83, while keepiing the Bulldogs hitters off balance with good off speed in the low 70's, during his 96 pitches in the complete game victory over #3 Defiance.

Zanesville (6-2) beat #25 Brunswick 5-0.

Vermillion (4-4) lost to #13 Sandusky 13-8, and #37 Amherst 7-5.

Willard beat Margaretta 10-5, 9-6.

St. Mary Central Catholic beat Monroeville 21-6, 16-0.

New London (8-4) beat Black River 9-1 and 9-3.

Bellevue (9-2) beat Clyde 10-9 (F-8 inn.), 7-5.

Woodmore beat Port Clinton 7-6 (F-10 inn.), Port Clinton beat Woodmore 11-1.

Euclid (6-1-1) beat West Geauga (0-6) 3-0, 4-1.

Evergreen (7-2) rolled to a pair of wins over Pettisville 15-2 and 9-1. In the first game junior shortstop Dylan Henricks was 2-4 with a home run and 3 RBI, while junior catcher Kyle Kern-Blystone, juniors Jamie Wright and Matt Brighton, and senior Jake Vanloocke each were 2-3. Senior Clayton Wielinski scattered 7 hits and struck out 7 to get the win. In the nightcap sophomore Jake Dowling threw six-innings of 1-hit ball and had a two-run single in the first to lead the Vikings to a 9-1 win. Seniors Trenton Shindorf and Clayton Wielinski each were 3-4 and junior Dylan Henricks was 2-3.

Northmont (8-2) beats Xenia (3-5) 11-0 and 14-2 in a double header. Junior Tom Stoffel went 4-6, 2 homeruns, and 7 RBI at the plate. On the mound, he pitched 2 innings and struck out 5 batters. 

Lexington (4-5) split with River Valley (4-5) with a 15-11 win and a 9-6 loss. In the first game, sophomore Brody Basilone led the offensive attack for Lexington with 4 hits. Senior Cody Bauer collected two hits and freshman Evan Lee added a home run. Junior James Watkins picked up the victory in relief. In the second game, Brody Basilone led Lexington with three more hits. The sophomore is 11-12 over the past four games. Junior Mason Willeke suffered the defeat in relief.

Lake (8-0-1) beat Wauseon (5-3) by scores of 1-0 and 6-4. 

North Royalton takes both games of a double header vs Oregon Clay in Toledo. In the opening 5-1 win, Junior Joey Sadowski pitched 2 innings giving up 2 hits and striking out 4. In game 2, junior Tyler Smolinski pitch 2 innings shut out innings. Junior Mike Hudec went 1 for 3  and junior Adam Vasil smashed a 2 run homer for the 9-5 win.

The Tallmadge Blue Devils traveled to Chapel Hill, NC to participate in the 16 team Hilltop Invitational Baseball Tournament.  In the opening round Tallmadge fell to host Chapel Hill HS (5-4) by a final of 6-3 in spite of the fact Tallmadge out hit the Tigers nine to six.  Junior catcher Zach Skraba led the THS offense with three singles.  Juniors Cordt Skraba and Kody Edwards added two hits each to the Blue Devil offense. In game two, Tallmadge lost 8-6 to Kernersville Glenn HS (7-6) by a final of 8-6. Senior Tucker Linder led the offense with two doubles and three RBI's. Tallmadge finished the tournament with a 10-0 six inning run rule win over Cedar Ridge HS (7-6). Junior RHP Nick Robinson got the win in his first career varsity start throwing a two hit shutout. Seven different players had a hit in the 12 hit offense for THS. Senior shortstop Danny Blake went 3 for 4 with three singles.  Senior Tucker Linder went 2 for 3 with 3 RBI's while junior centerfielder Cordt Skraba had two singles and scored three runs. Sophomore left fielder Chris Gray had a single, double and an RBI.  Junior second baseman Kody Edwards singled twice and drove in a run. Tallmadge is now 5-4 overall and 4-0 in Suburban League play.   

Carroll beat Beavercreek 6-5 and 9-3.

Tippecanoe (6-4) beat Troy 4-2 and West Carrollton 8-6.

Bethel beat Northwestern 5-4 and 6-4. 

Kenton Ridge (6-6) split a double header with West Liberty-Salem (4-5) with a 7-2 win and a 5-4 loss. Junior Michael Knotts struck out 16 in the first game for Kenton Ridge.

Springfield (6-3) and Tecumseh (10-2) split a double header. Unsigned senior Titus Montgomery went 4 for 5 with five stolen bases.

Westerville North (2-4) beat Hilliard Davidson (3-5) by scores of 9-1 and 4-2.

Upper Arlington (4-5) beat Olentangy Liberty (4-4) by scores of 7-0 and 7-6.

Granville (7-1) split with Watkins Memorial (4-4) with a 14-3 win and 14-6 loss.

Fairfield Union (8-2) beat Logan (3-9) by scores of 16-2 and 10-3.

Northridge (8-1) beat Shekinah Christian by scores of 7-2 and 15-4.

Fenwick beat Middletown 15-5 and lost 5-0.

Lakota West beat Kings 5-0 and lost 5-2.

Talawanda beat Valley View 12-5.
