Inside the Recruitment: '15 1B Tim Eidens commits to Ohio Dominican

Tim Eidens, 1B, Gahanna Lincoln HS, Class of 2015

PBR: Why did you choose Ohio Dominican?

Eidens: Ohio Dominican had the field I want to major in, physician assistant. Another Reason is that Ohio Dominican is very close to home for me.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?

Eidens: Siena Heights University in Adrian, Michigan.

PBR: Where did Ohio Dominican first see you? How did your relationship develop with Coach Page?

Eidens: ODU first saw me in the Worthington Wood Bat tournament at Gahanna. I have gotten to know Coach Paige more and more each time I've been on campus

PBR: Coach Page has made Ohio Dominican a baseball powerhouse. What will it be like to play under the legendary coach?

Eidens: Playing under Coach Paige will be a privilege because of how he makes you reach your full potential as well as his success as a leader for the program.

PBR: What role do the coaches expect you to play your first year on campus?

Eidens: My first year on campus I'm expected to play primarily J.V. and if I am able to prove that I can perform at a higher level I can possibly have some opportunities on Varsity

PBR: What summer team do you play on and how has travel baseball helped your development as a player?

Eidens: I play on the Ohio Warhawks Baseball Club out of central Ohio. I've played travel baseball ever since I was 7 so travel baseball is how I have become the player I am today.

PBR: What was the most memorable experience from this summer?

Eidens:  I would have to say joining the great group of guys that I did this summer. I couldn't have asked for a better group of guys or coaches to play with.

PBR: Who has had the biggest impact on you as a baseball player?

Eidens: My grandfather and Joe White have had the biggest impact on me. My grandpa has always been my biggest supporter and helps me fix something if I'm in a slump. Joe White has helped me improve myself as a ball player by helping me with drills I can do to improve my skills. He has been there for me ever since before my first travel team pushing me to my best ability. I'm so thankful both of these men are in my life.

PBR: What were your stats for this spring season at Gahanna Lincoln?

Eidens: I had a .377 batting average with 8 doubles, 2 triples and a homerun. Along with 7 stolen bases and 24 rbi's in 33 games.

PBR: Who is the toughest pitcher that you have faced in Ohio?

Eidens: A kid named Fernando from the Ohio Warhawks. The kid threw hard and had deceiving off speed with great movement.
