Travis Auth, SS, Walsh Jesuit, Class of 2015

PBR: Why did you choose Grove City?

Auth: I chose it because I had developed a really good relationship with Coach Skaricich and the school was really well known for its science programs.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?

Auth: Hiram College

PBR:  Where did the coaches first see you compete and how did your relationship develop with the rest of the coaching staff?

Auth: I first met Coach Skaricich on a visit over spring break last year and then he saw me play in a tournament in Youngstown over the summer.

PBR: What role does the coaching staff expect you to play during your first year on campus?

Auth: They expect me to come in and compete for infield and outfield time.

PBR:  Grove City is in Pennsylvania.  How important of a role was distance in your decision?

Auth: It didn't really make a difference because I loved the campus the first time I was there.

PBR: Who has had the biggest impact on you as a baseball player?

Auth: My dad

PBR: Who do you play for in the summer and what was your most exciting experience playing summer ball?

Auth: I played for Up To Bat. My favorite experience was breaking out of a slump by going 3 for 3 with a double in the Beast of the East.

PBR: What were your stats last season?

Auth: .468 with 5 doubles and 1 triple.

PBR: Who is the toughest pitcher you have faced in Ohio?

Auth: Austin Havecost
