Kaleb Lepper, OF, Lakota East HS, Class of 2016

PBR: Why did you choose Cornell?

Lepper: I chose Cornell because it was the best fit for me. I was able to find a great baseball program that matched up with a school of highly regarded academics. Cornell is also a good financial fit for my family.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?

Lepper: The other schools that I was considering were Bowling Green, West Virginia, and Brown.

PBR: Cornell is a very prestigious school academically.  How much of a challenge will it be to balance both academics and athletics at the same time?

Lepper: I have no doubt that it is going to be a challenge that will have me up late at night studying. However, this is something that I have done my entire high school career and the transition from high school to college should go smoothly.

PBR: Who do you play for in the summer and what was the most memorable experience from this summer?

Lepper: I played for the Cincinnati Flames over the summer. The most memorable experience that I had was being a part of the first every Flames team to make it to bracket play in the Perfect Game WWBA National Championships.

PBR:  What person has the greatest impact on your baseball career and why?

Lepper: Ken Hatfield has had the greatest impact on my baseball career. Having been my coach since 9 years old, he has molded me into the baseball player that I am today.

PBR: What were your stats this spring season?

Lepper:  No stats, due to injury.

PBR: Who is the toughest pitcher that you have faced?

Lepper: The toughest pitcher that I have faced is Rodney Hutchinson out of Mason High School
