Kyle Jackson, SS, Bowling Green HS, Class of 2020

PBR: Why did you choose Kent State?

Jackson: I know they are a great program and they have been very good in the past. And when I saw the campus and was talking with the coaches it felt like the right fit for me.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?

Jackson: I have just finished my freshman year I really haven't thought about it much, until I reached out to Kent state.

PBR: Where did the coaching staff first see you and how did your
relationship develop?

Jackson: They first saw me when we played Release baseball at Kent State. And I reached out to them. They watched a couple of my teams games and it grew from there.

PBR: Was the recruiting process what you expected?

Jackson: No, because I reached out to the coaching staff and I didn't think it would elevate to this.

PBR: How does it feel to be a part of a Division 1 baseball program?

Jackson: It feels amazing to play for a great program like Kent State! Great coaches and great environment. A tradition of success.

PBR: Who do you play for in the summer and what was the most memorable experience from this summer?

Jackson: Ohio Elite baseball 15u Marshall. Getting to know the guys on the team. A bunch of great guys who I've created great relationships with.

PBR:  What person has the great impact on your baseball career and why?

Jackson: There are several people who have impacted my career, if I had to give the most credit to someone it would be my parents and my high school coach Chandler Cole and my travel Coach Scott Marshall who has been nothing but amazing to me and my family. My teammates are also a great impact on my success.

PBR: What were your stats last spring season?

Jackson: I didn't play any varsity at Bowling Green. I played JV and played all around the field and batted lead off and batted above a .400 average. A lot of doubles and triples, including an inside the park homerun.
