We would like to thank all who participated in PBR's Mahoning Valley Open ID. This was a great opportunity for 2015, '16, '17, and '18 prospects to be put on college radars. Many players impressed during their individual workouts at the showcase.

Aidan Arkwright, 3B/2B, Massillon Perry, 2016
Scouting Report: 6-foot, 160-pound prospect with average frame. Defensively, he uses short arm action through ¾ arm slot. Top velocity of 67 mph across the infield. Average hands and feet. Agility should improve with better lower half flexibility. The right-handed hitter incorporates his lower half with a long stride. Showed consistency in his swing. Controlled landing. Showed some pop in his bat and the ability to hit to all fields. Top exit velocity of 78 mph. Ran a 4.43 home to first time.

Alex Stobert, RHP/3B, Koch (PA), 2016
Scouting Report: Possess a 6-foot-3, 180-pound projectable frame. He gets downhill and demonstrates command with his 84-86 mph fastball. He utilizes a high leg kick while displaying long arm action from a high-3/4 arm slot. His upper-70s slider shows late break. Stobert also mixed in a change at 72-73 mph with some arm-side run, but has a tendency to slow down his arm action with the pitch. Demonstrated good body control and athleticism from the third base position. He showed some first step quickness and plays through the baseball. Reached a top velocity of 78 mph across the infield. At the plate, the right-handed hitter has a tendency to bar in his load. Lands closed. Will improve power as lower half is corrected and hips can fully rotate. Slight uppercut path. Obvious strength in his hands. Top exit velocity of 82 mph. Ran a 4.62 home to first.

Colin Cottrell, RHP, Smithville, 2016
Scouting Report: 5-foot-11, 160-pound prospect with average high school frame. Throws from high-¾ arm slot with long arm action. Some stabbing action on the back end. Regular effort to his delivery. Fastball is straight and located for strikes at 72-73 mph. Breaking ball showed gradual 12/6 action down in the zone at 65-66 mph. Also throws a straight changeup at 65-67 mph.

Colten Wilber, RHP, Jefferson Area, 2016
Scouting Report: Showed considerable strides since his first appearance at the Underclass Games in July of 2013. Now, standing at 6-foot-1, 162-pounds, Wilber showed a similar high leg kicked while maintaining good direction with his lower half. His fastball sat at 84-85 mph and reached up to 87 mph with run. His breaking ball had 10/4 break at 74-76 mph while his changeup is thrown with good arm speed at 77-78 mph showing late arm-side sink.

Connor Watson, C/SS, Massillon Perry, 2016
Scouting Report: 6-foot, 180-pound with some strength to his frame. At the plate, the right-handed hitter keeps his feet in line through his stride. Still more room to incorporate his lower half and get his hips through. Minimal upper half load with slight upper cut path. Obvious strength in his hands. Top exit velocity of 84 mph. Ran a 4.73 home to first. From behind the plate, he throws from a ¾ arm slot. Creates some tail to his ball. Pop times ranged between 2.20 to 2.41. Top velocity of 76 mph from the crouch.

Dan Harwood, OF/LHP, Brecksville Broadview Heights, 2016
Scouting Report: 6-foot-2, 190-pound two-way prospect with projectable frame. On the mound, he throws from a high-¾ arm slot. Uses a stiff leg kick with tendency to fall off to third base side. Fastball showed arm-side run at 70-72 mph. Breaking ball showed late 1/7 action at 60-63 mph while changeup showed some fade to it at 60-65 mph. Defensively, he projects as a corner outfield type. Tendency to open early on his throws. Top velocity of 73 mph with accuracy. At the plate, the left-handed hitter is an upper-body type hitter at this stage. Uses a small leg kick. Will improve as he is able get hips through and clear front side. Hands work well through the zone and creates some pop off of his bat. Top exit velocity of 79 mph. Ran an impressive 4.36 home to first.

DJ Yates, SS/RHP, New London, 2016
Scouting Report: 5-foot-10, 170-pounds with some strength to his frame. On the mound, he uses a slow tempo to his delivery. Tendency to collapse on back leg causing him to throw uphill. Lands on line. Throws through a high-¾ arm slot. Fastball gets on you at 80-82 mph with some run. Breaking ball sat at 58-60 mph. Tendency to slow down his arm speed on the pitch. Changeup showed similar run to his fastball at 70-73 mph. In the field, he projects as a third base type. Uses short arm action through a high-¾ arm slot. Top velocity of 77 mph across the infield. Tendency to get upright early. At the plate, the right-handed hitter uses a short stride. Level bat path with pull tendencies to his swing. Some quickness to swing. Top exit velocity of 84 mph off the tee. Ran a 4.5 home to first time.

Dominik Pruskowski, RHP, Meadville Area (PA), 2016
Scouting Report: 5-foot-11, 150-pound prospect with average high school frame. Uses a high compact leg kick in his delivery. Tendency to open the front side early. Throws from a high-¾ to over the top slot. Shows some arm strength with a 80-83 mph fastball with run. Gets downhill with the pitch. Breaking ball sat at 71-73 mph with late 11/5 action. Changeup is thrown with good arm speed at 75-77 mph. The pitch has some sink to it.

Dylan Mawhorr, OF/LHP, Riverside, 2016
Scouting Report: 5-foot-10, 165-pound, top of the order type with consistent line drive production and 4.3 speed down the line. He starts a bit wide but shows good balance and still manages to get his hips through the ball. He showed good discipline and pitch recognition at the plate. He has a bit of an upper cut path to the ball while showing some quickness in his hands. From the outfield, he reached a top velocity of 79 mph. Good athleticism in his feet. Plays through the ball. Clean arm action and exchange.

Erick Woodburn, 3B/RHP, Southern Local, 2015
Scouting Report: 5-foot-10, 165-pound prospect with average high school frame. On the mound, he uses a big leg, swinging leg kick. Throws through high-¾ arm slot with average arm speed. Regular effort to his delivery. Throws a straight fastball at 72-74 mph. Breaking ball had 11/5 action at 66-67 mph. Changeup showed some cutting action at 56-58 mph. In the field, he uses long arm action with some accuracy to his throws. Top velocity of 72 mph. Average hands. At the plate, the right-handed hitter uses a short stride. Contact type swing. Slight loft to his path. Top exit velocity of 72 mph. Ran a 5.3 home to first time.

Evan Young, 3B/RHP, Canal Winchester, 2015
Scouting Report: 6-foot, 165-pound athletic prospect showed off a quiet swing from the right side that should play at the next level. He uses a short stride with a controlled landing. He maintains balance and gets his hips through as he shows good power and pop off the bat. He reached a top exit velocity of 80 mph. Good athlete with 4.5 home to first time. In the field, he uses short arm action through a high-¾ arm slot. Looks the part. Top velocity of 76 mph with accuracy to his throws. Average hands and feet, but does a good job of playing through the ball.

Garrett Martell, LHP/1B, Elizabeth Forward (PA), 2016
Scouting Report: 6-foot, 175-pound prospect with athletic frame. Uses a big leg kick in his delivery. Average arm speed through a high-¾ arm slot. Short arm action generates a 76-78 mph fastball with some natural cut to it. Breaking ball is commanded for strikes at 65-67 mph. Gradual 1/7 action down in the zone. Changeup shows similar movement as the fastball at 71 mph.

Greg Dunham, RHP/OF, South Range, 2016
Scouting Report: The 6-foot, 180-pound righty isn't likely on many recruiting boards at this point, but he is a name to add to your list. He shows good use of his lower half and stays on line. There is some quickness to his arm and hides the ball well. Dunham doesn't require much effort to generate a consistent 87-88 mph fastball that shows some run. He mixes in both a 83-85 mph cutter as well as a 78-80 mph breaking ball. His changeup is sold with good arm speed at 73 mph.

Harrison Gross, RHP, Orange, 2016
Scouting Report: 6-foot, 172-pound prospect with average, athletic frame. Throws from a ¾ to high-¾ arm slot with long arm action. Regular effort to his delivery. Sat at 80-82 mph with straight fastball. Breaking ball sat at 68-71 mph. Tends to slow down his arm action with the pitch. Still shows some tight spin on it with 11/5 movement. Changeup has arm-side run at 76-78 mph.

James Roth, OF/SS, Massillon Perry, 2016
Scouting Report: 6-foot, 165-pound prospect with impressive 4.26 speed down the line. Physically strong prospect. From the outfield, he reached a top velocity of 65 mph. Uses short arm action. Will be aided by playing through the ball to create more momentum to his throws. Plenty of potential as he isn’t taking full advantage of his athleticism. At the plate, he starts in a narrow, tall stance. Takes level path to the ball. Obvious quickness in his hands. Top exit velocity of 82 mph.

Jared Deagan, RHP/OF, Copley, 2016
Scouting Report: The athletic, 6-foot-2, 210-pound prospect uses long arm action with quickness to his transfer from a high-3/4 slot. He reached a top velocity of 84 mph with accuracy to his throws. Likely projects as a corner outfield type. At the plate, the right-handed hitter shows power potential in his swing. Tendency to wrap in his load. Strong lower half that will improve as he maintains balance and proper weight transfer. Still ball jumps off his bat. Top exit velocity of 83 mph. Ran a 4.87 home to first time. On the mound, the big righty throws with long arm action through a ¾ to high-¾ arm slot. Some wrapping action on the back end. Regular effort to his delivery. Fastball shows some sink to the arm side at 78-81 mph. Breaking ball works on two planes at 67-69 mph with gradual action down in the zone. When out of the stretch, he works exclusively with a slide step.

Jared Lee, 1B/RHP, Lordstown (PA), 2016
Scouting Report: 5-foot-10, 165-pound prospect with average high school frame. In the field, he uses short arm action through a high-¾ slot. Showed accuracy to his throws with a top velocity of 58 mph across the infield. Average hands. Tends to play from his heels. Will be aided by playing through the ball and on the toes of his feet. At the plate, the right-handed hitter is a contact type hitter. Uses a short stride. Short path to the ball with some loft. Pull tendencies in his swing. Top exit velocity of 80 mph.

Joey Machuga, 3B/RHP, Canfield, 2016
Scouting Report: 6-foot, 170-pound prospect. Displayed a balanced approach from the right side with the ability to hit to all fields with power. He does a good job utilizing his lower half as he starts from a narrow stance and utilizes a short stride. His hands are quick to the ball, and he reached a top exit velocity of 85 mph off the tee. Ran a 5.1 home to first time. In the field, he uses short arm action through a high-¾ arm slot. Top velocity of 77 mph across the infield with accuracy. Gets rid of the ball with a quick release. Athletic feet and creates angles.

John McCormick, RHP, St. Edward, 2016
Scouting Report: 6-foot-2, 195-pound prospect with tall, projectable frame. Tall and fall type delivery. Will be aided as more lower half is incorporate and momentum is created towards the plate. Throws from ¾ to high-¾ arm slot. Regular effort. Fastball is straight at 73-74 mph. Breaking ball showed gradual 11/5 action at 60-62 mph. Changeup is straight as well at 66 mph. Tendency to slow down his arm speed.

Jordan Wharton, SS/2B, Copley, 2016
Scouting Report: 6-foot-2, 185-pound prospect with strong, athletic frame. At the plate, he starts in a balanced stance. Confident approach. Uses a small leg kick with good weight transfer. Hands load from the shoulder with slight loft to his swing. Pop in his bat. Top exit velocity of 88 mph. Ran a 4.62 home to first time. Uses long arm action from ¾ to high-¾ slot. Top velocity of 79 mph across the infield with accuracy. Shows good athleticism in his feet. Tendency to stop momentum as he gets upright early in his transfer.

Justin Gusbar, 3B/OF, Jackson, 2016
Scouting Report: 6-foot-1, 190-pound prospect with strong, athletic frame. At the plate, the right-handed uses a leg kick to initiate his lower half. For the most part, controlled landing. Pull tendencies in his swing. Slight uphill path. Showed occasional pop in his bat. Top exit velocity of 81 mph. Ran a 4.51 home to first time. In the field, he uses long arm action through ¾ to high-¾ slot. Accurate throws with a top velocity of 74 mph. Average hands and feet. Showed good range to his glove side.

Justin Ivill, SS/3B, Belle Vernon (PA), 2016
Scouting Report: 5-foot-11, 155-pound prospect with small, athletic frame. At the plate, the right-handed hitter shows good use of his lower half. Slight uphill bat path with occasional pop in his bat. Top exit velocity of 82 mph. Ran an impressive 4.40 home to first time. In the field, he projects as a second base type. Short arm action through ¾ arm slot. Accuracy to his throws with a top velocity of 74 mph across the infield. Good action to his back side. Hands work well and can really pick it. Some quickness to his transfer.

Mac Shinaberry, OF/1B, Walsh Jesuit, 2016
Scouting Report: 6-foot-1, 205-pound prospect with physically impressive build. At the plate, the right-handed hitter shows obvious power potential in his swing. Good use of his lower half. Uphill path to the ball. Gets extension. Ball jumps off the bat. Top exit velocity of 89 mph. Ran 4.54 home to first time. Defensively, he typically works out as a catcher, but worked in outfield on this occasion. In the outfield, projects as a corner type. Still getting feel for the position with his footwork from the outfield. Top velocity of 77 mph on his throws.

Mason Nist, OF/1B, Manchester, 2016
Scouting Report: 5-foot-10, 175-pound prospect with some strength to his frame and good athleticism. Disdplayed a compact swing from the left side. He showed good line drive production with a bit of loft and extension. The head stays on the ball and he maintains balance. With 4.36 speed down the line, he shows potential as a top of the order type guy. In the field, he shows long arm action through a ¾ arm slot. Top velocity of 77 mph with accuracy. Average hands with some quickness to his transfer. Shows some lightness in his feet.

Michael Mathieu, OF/LHP, Jackson, 2016
Scouting Report: 5-foot-10, 175-pound prospect with average high school frame. At the plate, the left-handed hitter shows consistent line drive production. Linear type hitter. Started closed with small stride. Level path to the ball. Top exit velocity of 88 mph. Ran a 4.57 home to first time. From the outfield, he uses long arm action with a clean transfer. Top velocity of 79 mph. Consistently plays through the baseball. Interesting follow.

Michael YaSenka, RHP/SS, Franklin (PA), 2016
Scouting Report: 5-foot-11, 165-pound prospect with athletic build and some strength to his frame. On the mound, he uses a slow tempo to his delivery. Tendency to land slightly closed. Throws from high-¾ arm slot with downward angle. Fastball shows occasional run at 81-83 mph. Breaking ball shows good 11/5 tilt at 70-71 mph. Changeup is thrown with good arm speed at 70-73 mph. Straight action to the pitch. In the field, he uses short arm action through a high-¾ arm slot. Accurate throws with top velocity of 80 mph. Good hands and can really pick it. Some quickness to his transfer. Will be aided by continuing to develop proper angles to the ball and keeping momentum through towards first base. At the plate, the right-handed hitter uses a short, compact swing. Lower half is initiated with small stride and controlled landing. Slight loft with hard line drive production. Top exit velocity of 80 mph. Ran a 5.04 home to first time.

Tristen Stewart, OF/1B, Blackhawk (PA), 2016
Scouting Report: 5-foot-11, 185-pound prospect has a physical build. From the outfield, he reached a top velocity of 68 mph with long arm action. Fields the ball deep. Winds up in his transfer. Offensively, he starts with a slightly open stance from the left side. Limited stride to engage his lower half. Small upper-half load. Takes level bat path. Top exit velocity of 76 mph. Ran a 4.4 home to first time.

Tyler Baird, RHP, South Range, 2015
Scouting Report: 6-foot-3, 185-pound pitching prospect with tall frame. Throws with clean, long arm action through high-¾ arm slot. Regular effort to his delivery. Fastball sat at 76-79 mph with occasional sink. Demonstrated command of breaking ball with 11/5 movement at 69-70 mph. Also mixed in a changeup at 70-71 mph. The pitched showed some arm-side sink.

Tyler Maylish, C/3B, Jefferson Area, 2016
Scouting Report: 5-foot-11, 165-pound prospect with some strength to his frame. Defensively, he is the blue collar type. Embraces his role behind the plate. On his throws, he shows short arm action with a top velocity of 72 mph. Clean transfer. Good accuracy to his throws. Pop times between 2.13 to 2.20. Feet need to maintain direction/momentum towards second base. At the plate, the right-handed hitter starts in a balanced stance. Uses a small stride with controlled, repeatable landing. Limited upper half load. Hands tend to drop in his load. Needs to work on create momentum and utilizing his strength. Slight uphill path to the ball. Exit velocity of 83 mph. Ran a 4.51 home to first time.

Tyler Zaluski, OF, Chagrin Falls, 2016
Scouting Report: 6-foot-, 210-pound prospect. From the outfield, he uses long arm action from a high-¾ slot. Top velocity of 79 mph. Tendency to open up early. Shows some athleticism in his feet. At the plate, the right-handed hitter starts in a tall stance. Hands load from his hand. Creates momentum in upper half load. Still room to improve use of his lower half. Ball jumps off his bat. Top exit velocity of 86 mph. Ran a 4.4 home to first time.

Vinny Lucente, RHP, Youngstown Ursuline, 2016
Scouting Report: The 6-foot-4, 210-pound prospect is still on the raw side, but the ball comes out easy and there is plenty to with at the next level. He uses a slow tempo to his delivery with a tendency to lean in his delivery. His fastball shows arm-side run at 85-87 mph. He also showed off a hard 75 mph cut fastball. His slider has late break at 76-78 mph and he shows good arm speed on a 79-80 mph changeup.

Zack Brownsword, LHP/1B, Massillon Perry, 2016
Scouting Report: 5-foot-9, 160-pound prospect with average high school build. Uses a slow tempo to his delivery. Maintains direction with his lower half. Tendency to fall off to the third base side at finish. Long arm action through a high-¾ arm slot. Fastball shows some arm-side run at 75-78 mph with run. Breaking ball sat at 65-66 mph. Changeup is thrown with good arm speed at 70-73 mph. Similar movement as his fastball.
