Division I/Division II Ranked Teams

#1 Moeller (4-2) won 10-2 over De Lasalle Institute and lost to Homestead 11-4.

#2 Mason (5-2) loses to Colliersville (TN) by a score of 3-0.

#3 Defiance (4-0) defeated Napoleon 2-0 behind the pitching of Anthony Kidston (Louisville recruit). Kidston went the distance facing only 22 hitters. He allowed an infield hit, while striking out 16 and walking none. Junior Robbie Zeigler did all the scoring for Defiance as he went yard twice during the game for Defiance's only 2 runs. Defiance swept the DH with a win over Eastwood in game 2 as Tyler Batt picked up the win. Joe Gentile was the leader at the plate with a 3-hit game.

#4 Pickerington Central (3-2) picked-up two wins today by beating Anthony Wayne 5-1 and Watkins Memorial 3-2 in nine innings.  Sophomore Kyle Casserly and senior Zach Beaver each went 2 for 3 with two RBI each. Casserly was the winning pitcher in the Anthony Wayne game.  Beaver and Michael Zwilling combined for 6 scoreless innings in the second game, and Greg Basalyga pitched the final three innings to pick-up with win against Watkins Memorial. 

#5 Centerville (4-0) picks up two more wins with victories of 7-2 and 14-4 over Sycamore. Junior right-handed pitcher Brian Mroz went 6 innings in the first game allowing just one hit and no earned runs. In the second game, Sophomore Ryan Fox picked up the win.

#6 Strongsville (4-0) picked up two impressive victories on Saturday. In the first game, they beat Vandalia Butler 8-1. Austin Pritchard and Kyle Toma combined for a two hit, one run game with 9 total strikeouts and no walks. Will Cicerchi went 3 for 4 with a 3-run homerun. In the second game, Strongsville beat Perrysburg 13-8. Connor Ryan pitched 4 innings while striking out 8 batters and giving up two unearned runs. 

#7 Vandalia Butler (2-4) fell to Strongsville 8-1 and Perrysburg 11-1.

#8 Lakota East (2-3) beat Talawanda (5-2) by a score of 9-3 and lost to Kings (3-2) by a score of 13-9.

#9 Grove City 
(4-0) 

#10 Walsh Jesuit (3-1) split with #22 Toledo Central Catholic (1-1) in two extra innings games. TCC took the first game 2-1 while Walsh Jesuit took the second game 3-1.

#11 St. Ignatius (4-1) beat #13 Dublin Jerome by a score of 2-1 and Zanesville by a score of 6-2.

#12 Mentor (1-0) 

#13 Dublin Jerome (1-3) lost to tough games on Saturday against Zanesville by a score of 3-2 and to #11 St. Ignatius by a score of 2-1.

#14 Elder (4-1)

#15 Massillon Jackson 
(4-0) beat Delaware Hayes and their starting pitcher Jacob Bosiokovic (OSU recruit) by a score of 8-1. Bosiokovic gave up 1 earned run in his two innings of work. Erick Pickle lead Jackson at the plate with a 3 for 3 performance. In their second game, Jackson defeated #21 Dublin Coffman by a convincing score of 11-3. Junior standout Jonny Nottingham pickd up the win.

#16 St. Edwards (1-2) lost to North Olmsted by the score of 6-3. 

#17 Jonathan Alder (3-1)

#18 Sandusky (4-0) beat Huron by a score of 7-1. Xavier Turner (Vanderbilt recruit) anchored the offense with a 3-4 performance, including two triples.

#19 Columbus DeSales (6-2) lost to Archbishop Hoban by a score of 5-2 in a rematch of last year's Division II state championship. Hoban threatened in every inning and played spectacular defense. Adam Gray also threw a gem in his first varsity start.

#20 Willoughby South (0-0) plays their first game on April 2nd

#21 Dublin Coffman (2-2) lost to Perry 2-1 and lost to #15 Massillon Jackson (4-0) by a score of 11-3.

#22 Toledo Central Catholic (1-1) split with #10 Walsh Jesuit (3-1) in two extra innings games. TCC took the first game 2-1 while Walsh Jesuit took the second game 3-1.

#23 Steubenville (3-1) beat Hebron Lakewood by a score of 7-4

#24 St. Xavier (3-1) beat Badin 3-1 and Howland 2-1.

#25 Amherst (2-2) 

Division III/Division IV Ranked Teams

#1 Keystone (3-1) split with North Ridgeville with a win of 15-4 and loss of 11-9.

#2 Newark Catholic
 (2-4) beat #7 Bloom Carroll by a score of 6-5 and lost to Lancaster (3-2) by a score of 8-7.

#3 Minster's (3-1) results from this week include: beating Russia 10-3, Spencerville 12-1, and splitting with St. Mary's with a 7-0 win and a 5-4 loss.

#4 CHCA (3-1) lost to Loveland 11-8.

#5 Patrick Henry (3-2) loses to #14 Defiance Tinora (5-0) by scores of 18-2 and 12-10.

#6 Hamilton Badin (3-2) lost to St. Xavier 4-2.

#7 Bloom Carroll (3-1) beat Lancaster (3-2) by a score of 6-1 and lost to #2 Newark Catholic (2-4) by a score of 6-5.

#8 Holy Name (1-1) 

#9 Canton Central Catholic (2-1) lost to Claymont by the score of 6-5 in 10 innings and beat Claymont 19-8 in 5 innings. In the first game, Claymont senior catcher Trent Johnson singled in the game winner in the top of the 10th. For CCC, Brad Frohman, Todd Locke, Steven Montgomery, and Tim Valentine all had 2 hits. In the second game, Claymont’s Mike Smith had 2 hits and 2 RBI. For CCC, A.J. Battista had 3 singles, a sac fly, and 4 RBI. Steven Montgomery added 3 singles and 2 RBI. Gunnar Smeyres contributed 2 singles and 2 RBI. Brad Frohman had a single, double, and 3 RBI. Finally, Todd Locke had a single and a 3 run walk-off home run in the 5th (his 2nd of the year).

#10 Maderia (6-1) beat Bethel Tate by a score of 5-2 and lost 3-1.

#14 Defiance Tinora (5-0) remains undefeated after taking down #5 Patrick Henry 18-2 and 12-10.

#15 Piketon (6-1) picked up two victories against Vinton County by scores of 14-2 and 19-6.

#16 Coldwater (4-1) picked up two impressive wins against Indian Lake (4-2) on Saturday with scores of 5-2 and 9-3. Vinny Droesch picked up his first varsity win with 4 innings of scoreless relief while striking out 5 batters. Coach Harlamert picked up his 300th win. In game two, Eric Schmackers picks up the complete game win.

#22 Ottawa-Glandorf (4-1) beat Paulding by scores of 18-4 and 10-0.

#23 Summit Country Day (4-0) beat Indian Hill by a score of 11-1 and Hillsboro by a score of 2-0. Senior Bradley Fisk pitched a complete game in game one of the day with 4 strikeouts while allowing 3 hits. Junior Tommy Crowl was 4-4 at the plate. In game two of the day, senior Kenny Kerr threw a complete game shutout while only allowing 3 hits.

Non-Ranked Teams

Olentangy Orange (5-0) beat Canal Winchester by scores of 15-3 and 8-0.

Norwalk (6-0) picks up two more victories with run-rules of 12-2 and 16-6 over Lexington.

Turpin (6-2) beat Riverview Academy by the score of 6-2 and Amelia (2-3) by the score of 7-6.

Delaware Hayes lost to #15 Massillon Jackson by the score of 8-1 and bounced back to beat Massillon Perry 6-4 on a walkoff 3-run homerun by Jacob Bosiokovic (OSU recruit).

North Olmsted (4-0) beat Crestwood 11-4 and #16 St. Edwards by the score of 6-3. Sophomore Brad Novak picked up his varsity win against Crestwood while senior Dan Doyle pitched a complete game in the winning effort against St. Edwards.

Carlisle (7-0) picks up two wins against Oakwood by scores of 14-3 and 14-7.

Milford picks up two more wins against Colerain by scores of 5-2 and 12-5.

Fairfield beat Aiken by a score of 13-0.

Worthington Kilbourne split with Dublin Scioto with scores of 13-2 and 6-5 respectively.

Toledo St. John's Jesuit (1-2) dropped a double dip to UD Jesuit (7-0) by scores of 14-0 and 3-2.

Brunswick (3-1) swept Tallmadge (2-2) in a double header at Tallmadge by scores of 3-1 and 6-3.  Nick Furman (1-0) got the win in game one while Brandon Kutrubs got he save working a scoreless 7th. Brunswick made the most of their four hits led by Ty Greiner who had a single and a homerun. Brunswick jumped out early in game two scoring four runs in the first three innings and held on for the 6-3 win. Brunswick got a three hit game from freshman right fielder Gary Clift, while Anthony Bova finished with two doubles, two RBI's and two runs scored. Kyle Burson (1-0) got the game 2 win, while Kyle Michalik worked the final inning and two thirds for the save.  Matt Shomo had a HR in game 2 and sophomore Chris Gray had three hits on the day for Tallmadge.

Evergreen (4-1) took two from Edgerton in a doubleheader with 4-3 victory in 11 innings in the opener, and 11-1 in the nightcap. Junior Matt Brighton got the win in relief, pitching 7 1/3 innings of 4 hit ball for the Vikings. Senior Jake VanLoocke's base hit with two outs in the 11th plated the winning run. Senior Clayton Wielinski was 3-5 with a pair of RBI and junior catcher Kyle Kern-Blystone was 2-5 to pace the Vikings in the opener. In the nightcap senior second baseman Trenton Shindorf went 3-5 with a double, triple and a pair of RBI. Matt Brighton added 3 RBI on a pair of hits and junior shortstop Dylan Henricks had a pair of hits including a double. Sophomore Jake Dowling pitched 6 innings of four-hit ball, striking out 10 to get his first win.

Columbus Academy beat Eastmoor Academy 14-4 and 11-1.

Lakewood (3-2) won a thrilling pitcher’s duel against Crestwood (2-4) by a score 3-2. Lakewood struck first when following a Wayne Naida tripled and scored on a wild pitch. Lakewood then took advantage of a Crestwood error to plate 2 runs making it 3-0 after the 5th. Crestwood responded with a RBI single by Andy Auble scoring Adam Zambataro but left runners on first and second. In the top of the 7th, Crestwood loaded the bases with 2 outs and Ryan Fedor laced an RBI single to cut it to 3-2 but Tony Sargiovanni popped up the next at bat and was called for interference to end the game.

Unioto (4-0) swept Circleville on Saturday. Unioto won game 1 by a score of 5-0. Senior Christian Spradlin threw a complete game striking out 13 and giving up 2 hits. Dylan Minney was 2-3 with 2 RBI. In game 2, The Tanks won again 5-0. John Vanderpool threw a complete game 1 hitter. The lone Circleville hit came in the top of the 7th with two outs. Adam Woods led at the plate with a 2-2 performance. He also had a 2B and 2 SB.

Bishop Ready split with Newark by scores of 5-3 and 5-1 respectively.

West Holmes (5-0) picked up two more wins against Coschocton. Junior southpaw Gabe Snyder picked up another win. He pitched 3 innings while allowing 1 hit and striking out 6 batters.

St Charles (5-1) win two in double-header at Whitehall with scores of 4-0 and 11-0. In the first game Joey Gilmore (SR, OF/P) pitched 7 complete innings and struck out 7 batters. Junior Chris Brake collected 2 RBI and junior Jerad Kitzler added an RBI and In the second game, senior JD Vrabel pitched 5 complete innings and struck out 5 batters.  

Cambridge (6-0) picked up two more wins on Saturday. 

Loveland (5-0) picked up two more wins over CHCA and Withrow. 

Archbold (4-1) lost to Fairview (4-1) by a score of 3-0 as Brett Fitzwater (Bowling Green recruit) threw a 3 hitter. In the second game, Archbold won 10-1. Junior Taylor Price pitched a 1 hitter. Senior Tanner Wyse and sophomore Tyson Schnitkey lead the offense with multi-hit games.

Archbishop Hoban (3-2) beat Columbus DeSales (6-2) by a score of 5-2 in a rematch of last year's Division II state championship. The Knights threatened in every inning and played spectacular defense. Adam Gray also threw a gem in his first varsity start. In their second game of the day, Hoban lost to New Albany (4-0) by a score of 7-6. New Albany used a balanced hitting attack to keep putting runs on the board throughout the entire game. Hoban made a great 7th inning come back with 2 outs, but New Albany was able to push across the winning run with 2 outs in the bottom of the 7th to remain undefeated.

New Albany remains undefeated after beat Columbus DeSales (6-2) by a score of 6-5 and Archbishop Hoban (3-2) by a score of 7-6, the 2011 Division II state champions and runner ups respectively.  

Canton South (4-2) and Upper Arlington (2-3) split a doubleheader at OSU's Bill Davis Stadium with scores of 12-2 in UA's favor and 4-2 in South's favor. 

Anthony Wayne (3-1) beat Watkins Memorial and senior southpaw Robert Sexton (Wright State recruit) by a score of 4-3. In their second game, the Generals lost to #4 Pickerington Central (2-2) by a score of 5-1.

Edison (7-0) took two from Williard.
