We would like to thank all who participated in PBR Ohio’s Northern Ohio Underclass Preview. This was a great opportunity for the class of 2016, '17, '18 prospects to be put on college radars. Many players impressed during their workout.

Alex Theis, LHP/OF, New Riegel, 2017

6-foot-1, 190-pound average build. On the mound the southpaw has a good lower half and hides the ball well on his lift. Throws from a easy high-¾ slot with fastball sitting 81-84 mph. Shows really good feel of his breaking ball at 74-75 mph with a good sharp 1/7 break and depth to it. Alex also showcased a good changeup at 75-77 mph with good arm speed.

Alexander Krauss, RHP/OF, Southeast (Ravenna), 2017

6-foot-1, 165-pound skinny, projectable frame. From his position he has a tendency to wait back on the baseball. Throws from a high-¾ slot with a good exchange and 75 mph arm strength. Right-handed hitter that starts with his hands back and quiet in the box. Has a short compact swing with top exit velocity of 86 mph and ran a 7.69 60-yard dash. On the mound the right-hander has a slow tempo delivery that has a tendency to fall off a bit. Throw from a high-¾ slot with fastball sitting 76-79 with some arm-side run. Breaking ball sits at 63-65 mph with a sharp 11/5 break and showed a changeup with good arm speed at 67-68 mph.

Andrew Abrahamowicz, RHP/3B, Elyria Catholic, 2017

6-foot-3, 180-pound solid, projectable build. On the mound the righty has a clean, repeatable delivery with good direction at foot strike. Throws from a high-¾ slot with fastball sitting 83-86 with command of the strike zone. He also showcases a hard, late breaking slider at 76-78 mph. At the plate the right-handed hitter starts open and gets to even with a short compact swing, with exit velocity of 92 mph. Andrew also ran an impressive 6.94 60-yard dash.

Brock Begue, LHP/1B, Marlington, 2017

6-foot-1, 165-pound projectable frame. On the mound the southpaw has an up tempo delivery with good direction. He has a tendency to lean back on his lift. Throws from a high-¾ slot with fastball sitting 77-78 mph with some down angle. Show good command on his breaking ball with a slow 1/7 break at 60-62 mph. He slows down on his changeup at 56-58 mph and shows good feel to throw it.

Christian Orr, SS/2B, Clay, 2017

5-foot-10, 172-pound solid, athletic build. From the infield he shows good range and clean exchange. Throws from a short, high-¾ slot with some effort at 79 mph across the diamond. Right-handed hitter that stands tall with a short compact swing with some power to his pull side. Registered an impressive exit velocity of 90 mph and ran a 7.12 60-yard dash.

Collin Romel, LHP/1B, Olmsted Falls, 2017

6-foot, 187-pound athletic build. On the mound the southpaw showed the ability to throw three pitches for consistent strikes and feel. He has a simple, repeatable delivery with an easy arm and a fastball that sits 80-82. Breaking ball has good speed and solid 1/7 break at 69-72 mph. His changeup with good arm action sits 72-73 mph with sink.

Erik Demchuk, 3B/RHP, St. Ignatius, 2017

5-foot-10, 160-pound skinny, projectable frame. From third base he field the ball into his body with a clean exchange. Has a tendency to wind up on his throw from a high-¾ slot with 78 mph arm strength across the diamond. Right-handed hitter with a spread out stance and starts with his hands high. Dives in a bit and gets heavy on his front foot with good flat bat path. Registered top exit velocity of 79 mph and ran a 7.76 60-yard dash. On the mound the righty has a quick tempo delivery that opens up a bit at foot strike. Throws from a short, high-¾ slot with fastball sitting 76-77 with some life. Throws a slider at 65-67 mph with late break and shows a changeup with good arm speed and sing at 68 mph

Evan Brown, OF/1B, St. John’s, 2017

5-foot-11, 185-pound athletic build. From the outfield he takes aggressive routes to the baseball. Throws from a low-¾ slot that has a tendency to open up with 81 mph arm strength from the outfield. Right-handed hitter that start from spread out open stance and get to even. He has a little leg kick that lands heavy on front foot. Has a short, compact swing with top exit velocity of 82 mph and ran a solid 6.94 60-yard dash.

Griffin Stevens, SS/OF, Brecksville-Broadview, 2017

5-foot-10, 170-pound solid build. From the infield he shows decent footwork and clean transfer. Throws from a short, high-¾ slot with 71 mph arm strength across the diamond. Right-handed hitter that has an athletic set-up with no stride for balance. Showed quick hands with flat bat path and some power for his age. Registered top exit velocity of 78 mph and ran a 7.44 60-yard dash.

Jon Quinlan, C/OF, Oregon Clay, 2017

5-foot-11, 170-pound solid frame. From behind the dish he uses a quick exchange to create pop times between 2.08-2.11. Throw from a high-¾ slot with 76 mph arm strength from home to second. Right-handed hitter that starts open and gets to even. Little leg kick to load with good rhythm and flat bat path. Registered top exit velocity of 81 mph and ran a 7.43 60-yard dash.

Kasey Anzelc, LHP/OF, Walsh Jesuit, 2017

5-foot-10, 150-pound skinny projectable frame. From the outfield he comes through the ball well and throw from a high-¾ slot with top velocity of the showcase at 88 mph. Left-handed hitter that starts his toe pointed in with high hands. Uphill swing with top exit velocity of 79 mph and ran a 7.01 60-yard dash. On the mound the southpaw has a slow tempo delivery with good direction. Throws from a high-¾ slot with fastball sitting 77-81 mph. Shows a slider at 67-68 mph and a hard changeup with good arm speed at 73 mph.

Kyler Damm, SS/2B, Strongsville, 2017

6-foot-1, 145-pound projectable frame. From the infield he’s aggressive coming to get the baseball. Needs to quicken up his exchange. Throws from a high-¾ slot with 69 mph arm strength across the diamond. Right-handed hitter with a closed stance and hands started high. Uses a leg kick to load with flat swing and top exit velocity of 81 mph and ran a 7.19 60-yard dash.

Luke Clark, C/1B, Clear Fork, 2017

6-foot, 235-pound big, strong frame. From behind the plate he shows a good exchange with pop times between 2.07-2.19. Throws from a high-¾ slot with 73 mph velocity home to second. Left-handed hitter that starts slightly open and gets to even. Uses a strong lower-½  with a short compact swing and top exit velocity of 76 mph and ran a 8.01 60-yard dash.

Mark Harris, C/OF, Amherst Steele, 2017

5-foot-9, 170-pound athletic build. From the outfield he takes aggressive routes to the ball. Throws from a short, high-¾ slot with 80 mph arm strength. From behind the plate he throws from a high-¾ slot with pop times between 2.18-2.33 and top velocity of 72 mph home to second. Right-handed hitter with an athletic set-up with a little leg kick and has a flat bat path, but needs to finish his swing. Registered top exit velocity of 80 mph and ran a 7.47 60-yard dash.

Nicholas Chiodo, 3B/RHP, Solon, 2017

6-foot, 165-pound skinny, projectable frame. From the infield he fields the ball into his body and gets underneath his throw a bit from a low-¾ slot. Showcased 66 mph velocity across the diamond. Right-handed hitter with a spread out stance with a good load. Swing gets in and out of the zone with 69 mph exit velocity and ran a 7.97 60-yard dash.

Parker Hawk, LHP/OF, Cloverleaf, 2017

5-foot-11, 150-pound projectable frame. On the mound the southpaw has a slow tempo delivery that has good direction at foot strike, but a little too mechanical. Throws from a high-¾ slot with fastball sitting 66-69 mph with some sink. Breaking ball sat at 65-67 mph with a 1/7 break and showed a changeup with good arm action at 62-64 mph

Ryan O’Malley, C/OF, North Royalton, 2017

5-foot-10, 160-pound average build. From the outfield he needs to create more momentum attacking the baseball and utilize a crow hop. Throws from a high-¾ slot with 79 mph arm strength from the outfield. Behind the plate he has an ok exchange from a high-¾ slot with pop times ranging from 2.12-2.26 and 73 mph arm strength home-to-second. Right-handed hitter that starts open and gets to even. Big leg kick and good bat path with high finish. Registered top exit velocity of 74 mph and ran a 7.76 60-yard dash.

Sam Frontino, SS/RHP, Notre Dame Cathedral Latin, 2017

5-foot-10, 148-pound athletic frame. From the infield he shows good range with soft hands. Throws from a short-¾ slot with 80 mph arm strength across the diamond. Right-handed hitter that starts spread out and open and gets to even. Keeps his weight back with an uphill swing and top exit velocity of 87 mph and ran a 7.44 60-yard dash.

Trevor Damron, LHP/OF, Firelands, 2017

5-foot-9, 135-pound build. On the mound the southpaw has a short leg lift with slight head tilt and closes himself off a bit at foot strike. Throws from a loose, high-¾ slot with fastball sitting 75-77 mph. Has a good feel for throwing his breaking ball for a strike at 67-70 mph. He also showcased a hard changeup at 71-73 mph with good arm speed.

Xavier Moore, RHP/OF, Lorain, 2017

6-foot-1, 150-pound lanky, projectable frame. Possible two-way prospect. From the outfield he comes through the baseball throwing from a high-¾ slot with an impressive 85 mph arm strength for his age. Right-handed hitter that stands tall with little leg kick and quick hands. Registered top exit velocity of 82 mph, but once he get stronger that should increase. Ran a 7.52 60-yard dash. On the mound he shows a compact delivery with good direction. Throws from a loose, high-¾ slot with fastball sitting 81-85 with down angle. He used his changeup as his second pitch at 73-74 mph with a lot of sink to it.

Mike Merritt, C, Wooster, 2018

6-foot, 190-pound solid body for his age. From behind the plate he has a tendency to wind up when he throws from a high-¾ slot. Pop times range from 2.44-2.51 and 68 mph arm strength home to second base. Right-handed hitter with a good set up and starts with his hands back. Leg kick to load with flat path and 67 mph exit velocity and ran a 8.33 60-yard dash.

Ryan Strittmather, SS/2B, Elyria Catholic, 2018

5-foot-9, 150-pound build. From the infield he fields the ball into his body and throws from a short-¾ slot with 69 mph arm strength. Right-handed hitter that really shows a good feel to hit especially for his age. Stands tall with leg kick and flat path that stays in the zone. Registered top exit velocity of 80 mph and ran a 7.44 60-yard dash. On the mound he has an easy delivery that he is able to repeat. Throws from a short-¾ slot with fastball sitting 69-71 mph. Breaking ball has decent spin at 57-59 mph with a 11/5 break. He slows down a little on his changeup at 62 mph.
