No. 16 Cambridge High School

The Bobcats and head coach Dave Grey finished last season with a 24-6 record, falling to West Holmes in the district finals. Cambridge loses five seniors from the 2012 squad, but returns nine lettermen. Two-year letterwinners Ben Standiford (P/1B), Kyle Ritz (P/UTIL), Dillon Sunnafrank (P/3B) and Devon Francis (SS) look to provide leadership and experience for the Bobcats.

Standiford led the CHS rotation last year with an 8-1 record and a 1.38 ERA, striking out 60 batters in 45 innings. At the plate, he hit .302 with 16 hits and nine RBIs. The 6-6 Standiford was named all-OVAC Class 5A first team and all-Eastern District Division II second team last spring. Ritz posted a 3-1 pitching record with a 2.74 ERA. and batted .258 with nine RBIs, Sunnafrank (a second team all-ECOL selection last year) batted .320 with 21 hits and 18 RBIs while compiling a 5-1 record on the hill with a 1.41 ERA and 43 Ks in 44 innings, and Francis batted .409 with 27 hits, 18 RBIs, 21 runs scored.

Other returning lettermen are seniors RJ Endly (LHP/OF), Cody Huffman (1B) and Quintin Fettes (C, pictured). Endly, the only southpaw on the pitching staff, was 4-2 with a 2.50 ERA and 33 Ks in 33 innings; Huffman, a solid defensive player. The top returning junior is Trevor Hardesty (P/OF). A two-year letterman, who batted .326 with 30 hits, 22 RBIs and 24 runs scored a year ago while earning honorable mention all-ECOL recognition.

No. 17 Lexington High School

The Lexington Minutemen feature an explosive lineup. Senior OF/C Zach Sterry (Oakland recruit) is one of the state's top left-handed hitters. Junior RHP/1B Brody Basilone will likely serve as the team's ace and another middle of the order bat. Sophomore RHP/IF Evan Lee shows power from the right side and will eat up innings in the starting rotation. Senior RHP/3B Logan Bastin is a big lanky prospect that will contribute in multiple ways as well.

No. 18 Unioto High School

Head coach Tony Taylor has high expectations for his Sherman Tanks in 2013. In 2012 Unioto finished with a 20-8 record, before bowing out in the regional semifinals.

The Sherman Tanks will be led by a talented group of seniors, led by Bryce Arledge (LHP/1B/OF, 6-3, 1.08 ERA. Committed to MVNU). Other top seniors are Dylan Minney (SS, 6-3, 3-year starter at SS. Has great range and is very baseball smart. Will hit in the 3 hole for 3rd year in a row), Andy Tisdale (P/OF, 3-year starter on the mound, 2.07 ERA. Great range in the OF. Very baseball smart), Caleb Leslie (3B, 5-10, will be in the top of the lineup as a great run producer) and Hudson North (OF, 5-8, Hudson returns as a leadoff hitter. He is a smart player with great quickness). Junior catcher Jake Rose (5-9) has great speed and blocks extremely well.

Unioto also has a few talented underclassmen that look to contribute at the varsity level. Sophomore Alek Adkins (OF, 6-5, great outfielder, covers ground very well. good hitter that will be looked upon to drive in runs), and Freshmen Austin Houser (LHP/1B, 6-4, Austin is a very well built freshman that will contribute at the Varsity level right away. Not an overpowering pitcher at the moment but works the zone extremely well and loves to learn) and Andrew Oyer (C/INF, can play multiple positions, great hands and loves to learn).

No. 19 Cincinnati Wyoming

The Cowboys got hot late and made a long tournament run, before falling to eventual state champion Columbus St. Francis DeSales in the regional finals 3-0. Head coach Chris Fiehrer looks to use the long tournament run as a springboard towards a successful 2013 season. 

Expectations are running high at Wyoming High School this year.  Although they lost infielder Max Kadish (Furman recruit).

Last year, coach Fiehrer and team compiled a 17-10 overall record and finished 10-4 in the Cincinnati Hills League. With five returning starters and plenty of arms for the hill, a long tournament run is in sight.

Class of 2013

• C, Daniel Gilbert - Will lead behind the dish for another year.

Class of 2014

• P, Michael Kelly - Posted five wins and a 0.93 ERA as sophomore. 
• OF/P, Casey Howell - Hit .433 at the plate and picked up two wins on the mound last spring.
• P/INF, Henry Moore - Finished with a 4-2 record and 1.94 ERA.

Class of 2015

• SS, Parker Chalmers - The 5-8, 150-pound prospect is already considered one of the top in his class.  (pictured above)

No. 20 Bryan High School

Bryan High School baseball is as strong as any program in Northwest Ohio and is looking to build on a successful 2012 season (20-6, 8-0 NWOAL)  The Golden Bears have won five straight Northwest Ohio Athletic League titles outright and 40 games in a row within the league, which posses a lot of threats this season in the likes of Wauseon, Archbold, Evergreen and Patrick Henry.

This spring, second-year Head Coach Jeff Inselmann sees team defense and chemistry as a strength. “Our coaching staff takes pride in being fundamentally sound defensively, therefore, with not having a dominant strikeout pitcher our defense will have to make plays consistently to give us an opportunity to win,” said Coach Inselmann.

Class of 2013

• OF/P, Collin Bacon – The 6-2, 200-pound southpaw was Honorable Mention All-NWOAL last spring. On the mound the lefty looks to improve on a 4-1 record and 1.57 ERA from last season. At the plate Bacon hit .310 with a team-leading seven triples. Bacon will be hitting lead-off this season and looks to provide lots of speed and runs at the top of the lineup. Bacon is off to Morehead state for football after high school.
• P/OF, Blake Kuszmaul (pictured, top) – The 5-9, 155-pound Owens Community College commit looks to lead an inexperienced yet talented group of pitchers. In 2012 Kuszmaul posted a 7-1 record with a 2.29 ERA. (pictured)
• P/2B, David Miller, 6-0, 170 pound.
• OF, Dexter Ridgway, 5-8, 140 pound.

Class of 2014

• P/INF, Jordan Bostater (pictured, middle) – The 5-11, 190-pound (down 30 pounds from last season) prospect, displays potential at the plate and at both corner spots, as well as on the mound. The three-hole hitter batted .297 last season, and after cutting 30 lbs. looks to improve on the mound and at the plate.
• P/OF, Austin Martin – The 6-3, 160 pound righty looks to add depth on the mound after posting a 3-1 record with two saves, while posting a 2.20 ERA.

Class of 2015

• SS/P, Nate Rau (pictured, bottom) – The 5-9, 155-pound prospect will hit in the two hole, while also being a vacuum at shortstop. 
• P/INF, Bailey Martin – The 6-3 righty looks to provide depth on the rubber.

Class of 2016

• P, Austin Hutchinson – Hutchinson is a left-handed pitcher who has impressed the coaching staff this winter and will look to continue to impress as the season gets underway.
