Ohio Spotlight Game: #4 Springboro vs Fairborn

In the game between the Panthers and the Skyhawks, the #4 team in the state cruised to an easy conference win.

Springboro’s Jeremy Chapman faced off against Fairborn’s LHP Ryan Profitt.

Although both teams played strong defense behind their pitchers in the 1st inning, Chapman came out on top giving the Panthers 5 scoreless innings on just 3 hits in the 10-0 shutout win.

Fairborn’s Profitt threw a promising 1st inning, retiring the side in order ... but it did not take long for Springboro’s bats to come alive after that.

The Panthers put up 4 runs in the 2nd and 4 more runs in the 3rd, cutting Profitt’s day to just 3 innings on 8 earned runs.

That was not all for the Panther’s offense, as they scored 2 runs in the 5th inning to give them a 10-0 win after holding Fairborn in the bottom half of the 5th.

The powerful offense for Springboro was led by Luke Walker, Ethan Brickner and Mark Nadeau totaling 7 RBIs on 5 hits with 3 being extra-base hits.

The win improved Springboro’s record to 17-1 and the loss dropped Fairborn to 8-8.
