PBR Spotlight Game: #10 Hudson vs Solon

SOLON – Hudson played a very efficient game in defeating conference rival Solon 5-2 on Thursday.

#10 Hudson took advantage of defensive errors by Solon to put up single runs in the 2nd and 3rd innings to take a 2-0 lead despite only getting one hit off Solon junior LHP Nathan Altstadt. 

Altstadt and Hudson’s junior RHP Jackson Hickert both carried one hitters into the 4th inning with numerous strikeouts on both sides. 

Hudson then put together a rally in the fifth inning getting four singles and scoring on a passed ball and a sacrifice fly to center field to put Hudson on top 4-0. 

Hudson scored its fifth and final run in the sixth when senior SS Jake Stuursma walked; stole second and third, then scored on an errant throw. 

Solon finally scored single runs in the sixth and the seventh to finish the scoring. The big hit coming from RF Jake McCurry, who led off the inning with a hard double to the left-center gap.
