PBR Spotlight Game: Colerain 13, Princeton 0

A sunny Monday featured a solid GMC match-up between the Colerain Cardinals (2-0) and the Princeton Vikings (0-1) at Gower Field.

Colerain featured 2016 LHP Jake Allen (Ranked 63rd in Ohio’s 2016 Class) on the mound.

It was all Colerain from the start.

Cory Heffron (Ranked 106th in Ohio’s 2016 Class) led the game off with a double and the Cards didn’t look back from there, scoring four runs in the opening frame.

The offense was led by 2015 uncommitted OF Genesis Hillard who went 3-4 with two doubles on the day.

On the mound Allen did not disappoint.

The lefty went six strong innings, allowing just one hit while striking out 10.

The surprise of the game came in the 7th inning for Colerain when sophomore RHP Jacob Schrand came in relief for Allen.

The young righty didn’t allow a run while striking out one in his inning of work, showcasing a fastball up to 88 mph. The Cardinals went on to defeat the Vikings 13-0.
