Q and A with 2016 Wright State Commit: Seth Gray (Springfield Shawnee HS)

Seth Gray, INF, Springfield Shawnee HS, Class of 2016

PBR: Why did you choose Wright State?

Gray: I chose Wright State for several reasons. The coaching staff is unbelievable and I believe they have the knowledge and ability to make me a better player and take Wright State to the next level. The program is definitely a program on the rise and will be a team that people should watch for. The facility is really nice and will be great to workout in.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?

Gray: I've looked at Kent State and UC.

PBR: Coach Lovelady was name the new Head Coach at Wright State last summer. How does it feel to be a part of his era as the Raiders coach?

Gray: I'm excited to work with him and feel that he will build a great program.

PBR: Now that you have your commitment out of the way, what are your goals both individually and for the team going into your junior season?

Gray: My goals will remain the same. I'm going to hit the weights and work on foot speed. I will continue to work out the glove and will focus on the bat as well. As for my team goals, I just want to continue to advance further and further into the post season and be a great leader for the team.

PBR: How does it feel to be a part of a Division 1 baseball program?

Gray: It feels awesome! It’s been a dream of mine since I was just a kid. To have reached it going into my junior is a blessing.

PBR: Who do you play for in the summer and what was the most memorable experience from this summer?

Gray: I play summer ball for the Cincinnati Flames. My most memorable experience this summer has to be flipping all of the double plays with Jake Bourke.

PBR: What person has the great impact on your baseball career and why?

Gray: My father - He's taught me everything I know about the game of baseball.

PBR: What were your stats this spring season at Springfield Shawnee?

Gray: I hit .456 for the season and my ERA was 1.3.

PBR: Who is the toughest pitcher that you have faced in Ohio?

Gray: I would have to say Adam Wolf from Ohio Elite 17u Noe team.
