Team Ohio Future Games Spotlight: Jace Burke, 3B/RHP

By Dylan Hefflinger
Ohio Editor in Chief/NW Scout

On July 30th through August 1st, PBR Ohio will take a select team of players in the Classes of 2017 and 2018 to represent Ohio at the PBR Future Games in Indianapolis at Grand Park.

Players receive exposure unlike any other event for underclassmen. Last year, 100+ colleges from all over the country were in attendance, including coaches from every Division I power conference in the country. Only players who have a legitimate shot at being a Division I recruit and who have an interest in the possibility of making a verbal commitment during their sophomore or junior seasons have been considered.

Thoughts on being selected to play in PBR's Future Games and representing the great state of Ohio: "I feel completely honored and humbled to be invited to PBR’s Future Games. I am grateful that my hard work paid off in achieving one of my goals for this season. I am excited that it offers me an opportunity to demonstrate and evaluate my skills while continuing to work hard to get to the next level."

How has PBR helped as far as recruiting and exposure: "PBR has been outstanding. It has put me in front of many schools that have reached out to contact me from seeing me at an event. Additionally, the video and analysis that is available online makes contacting schools and coaches very easy."

Athletic awards or academic accolades that you have received (All-State teams, Preseason all-state teams, league honors, honor roll, etc): I have been a first honors academic student since my freshman year.  I was recently admitted into the National Honor Society.

2015 Statistics Spring:  Pitching: 14 IP, 2-0, 1 SV, 14 K: Hitting: 4-13, 308 Avg.

What other sports do you play, describe (positions, years varsity, achievements, stats):  I played basketball and football through middle school but now 100% dedicated to baseball as I pursue my goal of playing college baseball. I was proud to make the Varsity team at Walsh Jesuit High School as a Freshman and earn my first starts at 3rd base and on the mound this past season as a Sophmore.

GPA/ACT/SAT: GPA- 4.04; ACT- 25

Fun Fact (Anything unique about yourself): I share the same birthday as Lebron James and Tiger Woods. (12/30/98)
