By Nathan Rode and PBR Staff

With the Future Games and Area Code Games taking up much of the attention the last two weeks, The Buzz has been on hiatus. That means we have a lot of recruiting news to pass along to you. Here are the highlights…

+ Coaching changes can shake up recruiting with players following coaches to their new school or backing out of a commitment because of unfamiliarity with a new staff. The change at Indiana has seemingly given the Hoosiers a boost. Chris Lemonis mined the Midwest region while at Louisville and was named the new head coach at Indiana this summer. Several prospects have since made their verbal commitment to the Hoosiers. LHP Andrew Saalfrank (Heritage HS, IN) dazzled recruiters with his breaking ball in Team Indiana’s final game at the Future Games and then verbally committed to Indiana within two weeks. +LHP Jack Eagan (Wautoma HS, WI) the No. 5 prospect in Wisconsin’s 2016 class and only southpaw to touch 90 mph at the Future Games, made visits to Indiana and Purdue between that appearance and one in Long Beach, CA, for the Area Code Underclass Games. He ultimately committed to Indiana on Thursday. + RHP Skylar Szynski (Penn HS, IN) showed off his arm strength from the outfield at the Future Games and then sat 89-92 on the mound. He verbally committed to Indiana on Thursday. RHP Brad Littelton (Coal City HS, IL) also committed to Indiana.
