PBR OK Player of the Week: Jenk's Brett Standlee

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

The sixth PBR Player Of The Week title goes to Brett Standlee. Standlee is a senior Oklahoma State commit and a RHP/2B for Jenks who put up big numbers from the mound and at the dish last week. The  6-foot-4, 205-pound right-handed pitcher was 1-0, not allowing an earned run on two hits through five innings while striking out 10. At the plate, Standlee hit .667 (4-for-6) with two doubles, two home runs, nine RBI’s, and walked eight times. The No.13 ranked player in Oklahoma’s 2017 Class finished the week with an .857 OBP and helped the Trojans go 3-0.

(5A) Chandler Olson, and uncommitted senior P/OF for Pryor, produced on the mound and offensively last week. With the bat, Olson hit .571 (8-for-14) with four runs scored and four RBI’s. On the mound, he also picked up a save against Durant and win against McAlester.

(4A) Miguel Fulgencio, an uncommitted  junior CF/LHP for  Sequoyah Claremore, hit .769 (10-for-13) with two doubles, three home runs, eight RBI’s, 11 runs scored, three walks and not strikeouts. The No. ranked player in Oklahoma’s 2018 Class also earned a win on the mound allowing just one run on three hits and striking out 10.

(3A) Jonathan Escabedo, an uncommitted  5-foot- 9, 175-pound senior catcher for Marietta, hit .750 in four games last week with three doubles, a home run, three RBI’s, seven runs scored, seven walks, and stole an outstanding 13 bases.  

(2A) Dawson Hogner, an uncommitted senior 3B for Oktaha, hit .636 (7-for-11) last week with three doubles, a home run, and 10 RBI’s. The left-handed hitter had an OBP of .733 and slugged 1.182.

(A) Kohl Kirby, a freshman infielder for Oklahoma Christian Academy, hit .600 (3-for-5) last week with three RBI’s, two runs scored, two walks, and a sac but.

(B) Week four’s overall player of the week winner, Angel Gonzales, a 6-foot-1, 175-pound sophomore  RHP/C  for Medford, had another big week at the plate and on the mound. With the bat, Gonzales hit .875 (7-for-8) with two doubles, a triple, an inside the park home run, eight RBI’s, seven runs scored, one walk, and no strikeouts. On the mound, Gonzales went 8.1 innings with a 1.68 ERA on four hits, seven free bases, and a staggering 21 punch outs

Honorable Mentions

Jakob Brandenberger, a freshman RHP/SS for Putnam City West, hit .333 (7-for-21) with a home run, eight RBI, and earned six free bases. In two starts on the mound, Branderberger posted a 1.55 ERA with five strikeouts.

Dawson Brooks, a 6-foot freshman 3B for Duke, batted .556 (5-for-9) with three doubles, a home run, three walks, nine RBI’s, and three stolen bases.

Cline Corley, an Oklahoma Christian commit and RHP/UTIL for Carl Albert, hit .500 (4-for-8) with two RBI’s, three runs scored, an OBP of .636, and slugged .625. The senior is currently ranked No.102  in Oklahoma’s 2017 Class.

Brody Gibson, an Oral Roberts commit and a C/RHP for Metro Christian Academy, hit .583 (7-for-12) last week with two home runs, and six RBI’s. The No.16 ranked player in Oklahoma’s 2017 class also tossed a five inning one hitter with eight strikeouts.

Matt Kaiser, a sophomore OF for Broken Arrow, hit .444 (4-for-9) last week with a double, home run, three runs scored, and five RBI’s. The 6-foot-2, 180-pound left-handed hitter made his swings count. His double produced two RBI’s in a 2-1 district victory, and his two run home run tied a game in the bottom of the seventh that BA was able to win 8-7. Kaiser is currently ranked No. 37 in Oklahoma’s 2019 Class. 

Brayden Keller, a 5-foot-10, 165-pound sophomore SS for Medford, hit .625 (5-for-8) with two doubles, an inside the park home run, five RBI’s, and three runs scored. 

Carter LaValley, a sophomore SS for Carl Albert, hit .556 (5-for-9) last week with a home run, two RBI’s, five runs scored. LaValley’s OBP for the week was .667 to go along with a slugging percentage of 1.11. The uncommitted prospect is currently ranked No.13 in Oklahoma’s 2019 Class.

Dylan Reeves, an NOC Enid commit and RHP/3B for Carl Albert, hit .545 (6-for-11) with two doubles, three runs scored, and two RBI’s last week. Reeves has a slugging percentage of .727 and an OBP of .583. Currently ranked No. in Oklahoma’s 2017 Class.

Brayden Rodden, an uncommitted junior C/RHP for Oktaha, hit .583 (7-for-12) with three doubles, a home run, and four walks. Currently ranked No.89 in Oklahoma’s 2018 Class with his stalk rising, Rodden’s OBP was .688 and he slugged 1.083.

Garrett Wood, an uncommitted junior SS for Claremore, hit .545 (6-for-10) with two doubles, a triple, four runs scored six RBI’s and an on base percentage of .571.  Wood’s performance helped Claremore to three district wins and a non district win last week.

*A special shout-out goes to the intire Claremore Zebra’s pitching staff including Taylor Davis (2018), Nathan Chase (2017), Chance Knaust (2017), and Noah Grimett (2018), as they posted 24 innings pitched with a 4-0 record allwing just three runs, two earned, on five walks and 11 hits while striking out 31 batters, for a ERA of 0.583 on the week.
