scouting report

Brettell has a wiry 6-foot-3 frame with room to add to his 165-pound stature. Coming along way in the last eight months, Brettell uses proper arm action with a ¾ slot to attack hitters with his fastball that sits 84-87 mph with sinking action to it when he gets extended. Wouldn’t be difficult to imagine Brettell throwing high 80’s and into the 90’s in the near future with his easy mechanics and arm speed.

To go along with his fastball, he shows good feel for his slider and changeup. He has the ability to throw each for strikes, with the slider being relatively new it is thrown hard at 77-81 mph with some biting action. Could easily be a sinker/slider type pitcher at next level. Uses changeup at times when most high school pitchers would not. Able to keep down in the zone at 70-72 mph with good arm speed and sink.
