Ontario Insider: Uncommitted Senior Spotlight - Jordan Balazovic, RHP

Name: Jordan Balazovic
Position: RHP
Class: 2016
High School: St. Martin’s Collegiate
Club Team: Ontario Blue Jays
Height/Weight: 6-foot-4, 175-pounds
Ranked: 3rd in Ontario’s Class of 2016

Scouting Report: The 6-foot-4, 175-pound right-hander is long and lean, with a loose arm that is repeatable and projects well. Balazovic currently is in the high 80’s to 90 mph with his fastball, and it is easy to see that there is more in there, especially once he matures physically. His arm action is clean and works well, stays online with lower half and works out of a loose ¾ arm slot. Has shown the ability to spin a curveball, working on more of a smaller bite lately, he was 77 mph with it last Sunday, displaying the ability to throw strikes down in the zone with the pitch. His does a real good job with his changeup, repeats delivery and arm action well as it has become a deceptive pitch for him. It sits around 78-80 mph and has good run when down in the zone. Velocity has continued to increase over the year and it would be no shock to see that trend continuing into 2016.
