Ontario Top Ten Breakdown: Top Viewed Prospect Profiles - #7 Jordan Balazovic

Jordan Balazovic#7 Jordan Balazovic, RHP, 2016
Background: The seventh profile on our countdown is a top pitching prospect in the 2016 class, 6-foot-4 right-hander Jordan Balazovic.

The Ontario Blue Jay and Junior National Team member had a breakout year in 2015, establishing himself all over the country versus amateur and professional hitters alike. He was one of the arms to keep a watchful eye on during this past summer. Balazovic is long and lean at 6-foot-4 and very projectable at 175-pounds. With a wiry frame, long arms and legs, big hands and plenty of room to mature and add strength, Balazovic's potential is there. The arm and body work throughout his delivery with a loose, easy arm that has some length in the back.

The Arsenal: Balazovic's fastball has been up to 90 mph with arm-side run and tailing action. The offspeed continues to improve as the curveball shows tilt and rotation with improved command while the changeup shows signs of being an above average pitch for the righty.

Outlook: Balazovic will be a key piece for the JNT this summer and although he has only been on one trip, he will be one of the older pitchers on the roster. That same scenario will unfold on his club team as well, with Balazovic being a highly followed player in Ontario this spring. He has college’s from the top conferences in the nation inquiring about him and should be relatively close with his selection. As he gets stronger and older, we really feel the number two ranked player in the 2016 class can take off this upcoming year and put himself into the best position possible heading into the draft as well his freshman year of school.
