Team Ontario Future Games Spotlight: Dondrae Bremner, MIF

By Dylan Hefflinger
Ontario Editor in Chief/ Scout

On July 30th through August 1st, PBR Ontario will take a select team of players in the Classes of 2017 and 2018 to represent Ontario at the PBR Future Games in Indianapolis at Grand Park.

Players receive exposure unlike any other event for underclassmen. Last year, 100+ colleges from all over the country were in attendance, including coaches from every Division I power conference in the country. Only players who have a legitimate shot at being a Division I recruit and who have an interest in the possibility of making a verbal commitment during their sophomore or junior seasons have been considered.

Team Ontario Future Games Spotlight: Dondrae Bremner, MIF

Dondrae BremnerName: Dondrae Bremner
Position: SS/2B
Class: 2017
Height/Weight: 6-foot-2, 160 pounds
High School: Bill Crothers Secondary School
Summer Team(s): Toronto Mets 16u

Past Showcase/In-Game Performances:
Date: 10/24/14
Scouting Report: 6-foot-1, 150-pound athletic frame with future strength gains remaining. Defensively, actions were impressive for a 2017 middle infielder. Hands were soft, fielded ball clean, a little gracefulness to his game in the field. Threw from a short ¾ slot that was 75 mph from the infield. Offensively, hits from even, upright stance. Small rock and leg kick to load, hands are loose with bat speed. Head will dip at times with one handed finish. Exit velocity was 84 mph, 40 time 5.32. Projects as gap guy with some power, athletic actions all around. Could be a guy with continued development and progression.Dondrae Bremner

Thoughts on being selected to play in PBR's Future Games and representing Ontario: "I am excited that I have been selected to being a part of Team Ontario in the Futures Games. PBR has given me the chance to showcase myself in front of many schools and recruiters."

How has PBR helped as far as recruiting and exposure: "I have been to a PBR event before and I found that it was preparing me for more showcases that I will be attending in the future. PBR has given me the chance to expose myself as being selected to the Future Games."

Athletic awards or academic accolades that you have received (All-State teams, Preseason all-state teams, league honors, honor roll, etc): "Honour Roll in grades 7, 8, 9, and 10. Batting Title in the 2014 15u Canadian Nationals. NABF WS Runner-Up."
