#1 Bonner-Prendergast 12, Archbishop Wood 9

  • 2014 Brad Scull (3-for-4, 3B, 3 RBI) and Penn State-bound Jim Haley (3-run HR) spearheaded the offense, as the Friars stayed undefeated in Catholic League play.

#2 South Park 11, Ringgold 1

  • The Eagles remained undefeated on the season as Jake Bywalski (Concord) notched the victory and Nick Yobbi (USC-Aiken) picked up three hits.

#3 Hopewell 6, Central Valley 4

  • The Vikings banged out 12 hits, including HR from Stefan Mrkonja and Tim Hughes (West Liberty), as they stayed undefeated in section play and moved to 12-1 overall on the season.

#4 Whitehall 12, Louis E Dieruff 4

  • 2013 1B Zach Delp (4-for-4, 2 R, 2B, HR, 2 RBI) and 2013 CF Matt Bonshak (1-for-2, HR, 2 RBI) both clubbed round-trippers in a 7-run 5th inning that put the game on ice.

#5 Pine-Richland 4, Shaler 0

  • Williams College-bound Marcus Colella authored a masterpiece (CG, 2 H, BB, 4 K) to push the Rams to 8-1 on the season.

#6 Pittsburgh Central Catholic 9, Baldwin 6 (8inn)

  • ShafferTwin 3-spots in the 7th and 8th innings gave the Vikings a come-from-behind victory over the Highlanders. Three home runs powered the offense, including two in the 7th (by Lackawanna-bound Sabatino DiNardo and Pitt-bound PJ DeMeo). 2015 RHP Joel Shaffer (right) went 3.2 scoreless IP to enable the comeback. 2014 Alex Pantuso had a full day for Baldwin, pitching the first seven innings (5 H, 8 BB, 7 K) and swatting a 3-run HR.

  • 2015 Tregg Liebel tossed a CG 4-hit shutout to help the Mustangs move to 11-0 on the season.

Pope John Paul II 6, #12 Methacton 4

  • The Golden Panthers handed the Warriors their third loss of the week, as 2014 James Bleming (2-for-3, 2 R), 2014 Evan Myers (1-for-2, R, 2B, 2 RBI), and 2013 Bobby O'Connor (2-for-3, 2 R, RBI, SB) led a balanced offensive attack. Trevor O'Brien came on in the 1st inning and picked up the win with four innings of relief, while Matt Morgan (3 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 0 BB, 3 K), tallied the save. Clayton Harwick (West Chester) went 2-for-3 with a 2B and 2 RBI for Methacton.

#14 Liberty 5, Allentown Central Catholic 2

  • The Hurricanes pounded out 12 hits, including a 3-for-4 day by 2014 Tom Epsaro, as they moved two games up on Freedom in the LVC East.  Eddy Albertson (6 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 0 ER, 7 BB, 7 K) notched the victory.

#18 Springside Chestnut Hill 12, Germantown Academy 1 (6inn)

  • 2014 Ross Mintzer threw a CG with four strikeouts and 2014 Owen McAdoo added two doubles and two RBI in the mercy-rule victory.

#19 Chartiers Valley 6, South Fayette 1Mulvihill

  • The Colts were out-hit eight to four, but won the scoreboard column that counts on the strength on a 5-run bottom of the 4th inning.  Uncommitted 2013 LHP Matt Mulvihill (right) went the distance allowing 8 H and 1 BB, while racking up 6 K.
