District 6 Pitcher of the Year: RHP Ian Stiffler

Ian StifflerIan Stiffler is the PBR District 6 Pitcher of the Year culminating a senior season that was highlighted by a call from the Atlanta Braves. The 6-foot-1, 170-pound RHP from Somerset HS was taken by the Braves with the 223rd overall pick in the 2013 amateur draft with their 7th round pick. He has yet to make a decision on his baseball future, having committed to VCU to play college baseball last fall.

Stiffler has shown a continual accent to the top of the Class of 2013 rankings over the past two years. He sits in the upper 80's with a fastball that touches 90-91. Stiffler also commands a curveball, slider, changeup mix that make his fastball even more effective.

On the season Stiffler registered 67 strikeouts in 42.2 innings of work with a 2.35 ERA in helping lead Somerset to an 18-5 overall record.
