A five-run sixth inning was more than enough run support for UNC commit AJ Bogucki (CG, 5 H, 1 BB, 8 K), as Boyertown picked up a 5-1 road victory over West Chester Henderson en route to the District I AAAA Quarterfinals.

Bogucki wasn't always dominant (the Warriors had a runner on base in all but two innings), but he didn't beat himself and recorded a big punchout in a 2nd & 3rd, two out situation in the fourth inning. Earlier that inning, Henderson tallied the first run of the game when 2014 OF Kevin Miller singled through the 6-hole and came around to score three batters later on a two-out single by 2013 1B Scott Cullinan.

Chas McCormickMillersville-bound Chas McCormick matched Bogucki pitch-for-pitch through five frames (including picking three Bears off the bases) before leaving a few balls up in the fateful top of the sixth. Back-to-back singles by Bogucki and 2013 C Cory Fox preceded a ringing double over the center fielder's head from 2013 SS Daulton Weeks. After a hit batsman, 2013 3B Luke Strong lived up to his surname, stroking his second double of the game to score Weeks. A safety squeeze bunt and a wild pitch with a runner on third base capped the scoring. Henderson got the leadoff man on in the sixth, but Bogucki retired the next six hitters to preserve the win.

Next up for Boyertown will be Pennridge, who knocked off Neshaminy 7-1. Six teams from the Northern half (4 Suburban One, 2 PAC-10) and two from the Southern half (1 Ches-Mont, 1 Central) advanced to the District I AAAA quarterfinals on Friday, May 24. The chance for an all-SOL semifinal round still exists, as none of that league's four teams are slated to face off. The full schedule is:

S-4 Coatesville @ N-1 Central Bucks East

N-7 Council Rock North @ N-3 Methacton

N-12 North Penn @ S-1 Strath Haven

N-10 Pennridge @ N-6 Boyertown
