Middle Infield Analysis: Week 3 of Fall College Prospect Program

SS Jimmy Galusky, Preston HS (WV), Class of 2014

Galusky has shown athletic actions in the middle infield at several PBR events in the past three months. The 6-foot-3, 170-pound prospect runs well and has good range. His frame indicates that he will likely continue to mature. The uncommitted senior has shown the ability to be a capable top of the order hitter at the next level and has drawn interest from several schools with his performance in the fall program.

RHP/SS Collin Liberatore, Greensburg Central Catholic, Class of 2015

Liberatore showcased an 84 mph bat exit velocity and the ability to drive the baseball to both gaps. The 6-foot-2, 165-pound right-handed hitter went 3-for-8 with a double in game action at Misericordia University and Mansfield University. He has demonstrated the ability to play through the baseball with throws of 78 mph across the diamond. 

SS/RHP John Matthews, Punxsutawney HS, Class of 2016

The 6-foot, 150-pound two-way prospect continued to impress with his glove and with his bat. Matthews showcased the ability to play the baseball on the move with throws of 83 mph across the diamond. He shows fluid actions and a clean release that make him one of the top middle infielders in his class. Matthews went 1-for-4 at the plate in game action at Misericordia University.

RHP/SS Braydon Nault, Westwood Collegiate (Canada), Class of 2014

Nault is a 6-foot-2, 135-pound prospect that still has room to add to his frame. The right-handed hitter utilizes a short stride and good extension to create barrel whip and a bat exit velocity of 79 mph. Nault showcased a flat bat path and the ability to use all fields in barreling most balls during his round of batting practice. He showed an accurate arm in the infield with throws of 70 mph across the diamond.

2B/SS Ryan Nolan, Preston HS (WV), Class of 2014

Nolan is a 5-foot-10, 145-pound prospect that hits from a square stance with a lift and replace stride foot. He showcased the ability to barrel most baseballs with a bat exit velocity of 75 mph during batting practice. Nolan displayed a quick transfer and throws of 71 mph across the diamond from the middle infield.

Josh Pittman2B/SS Josh Pittman, Central Catholic HS, Class of 2014

Pittman shined with his defensive play over the weekend. The 5-foot-9, 155-pound uncommitted senior showcased a very quick transition on several double play turns and fluid actions in the middle infield. Pittman displayed an 81 mph bat exit velocity and the ability to be a solid hitter at the next level. He went 2-for-3 at the plate in game action at Misericordia University.

2B/SS Devon Walker, DuBois HS, Class of 2014

Walker is an uncommitted senior that shows excellent game instincts. The 5-foot-9, 160-pound prospect showcased all of his tools on the weekend going 2-for-4 with a double at Mansfield University and turning in the play of the weekend on a one handed charging play from 3B at Misericordia University. 

2B/SS Ted Williams, Meadville HS, Class of 2014

Williams continued to impress with his steady work in the middle infield. The 5-foot-9, 145-pound prospect showcased an 83 mph arm across the diamond and the ability to barrel the baseball to all fields from the left side of the plate. Williams went 2-for-5 at the plate in game action at Misericordia University.
