Middle Infield Analysis: Week 5 of Fall College Prospect Program

SS/2B Danny Corvino, Freedom HS, Class of 2015

Corvino has an athletic 5-foot-11, 165-pound frame and showed the ability to play the baseball on the move with throws of 76 mph across the diamond. The right-handed hitter went 1-for-3 with a double in game action at DeSales University. Corvino showcased good balance and rhythm to his swing and the ability to barrel the baseball consistently with a bat exit velocity of 78 mph.

Ryan Creps2B/SS Ryan Creps, Indiana Area HS, Class of 2014

Creps is an uncommitted senior that continued to raise his stock with another solid fall performance. The 6-foot, 180-pound left-handed hitter showed the ability to drive the baseball hitting several balls to the wall and out of the park in batting practice at DeSales University. Creps went 2-for-7 at the plate over the course of the weekend with a double and a triple. He also barreled a number of balls for outs. 

2B/SS Pearce Harhigh, Bishop McDevitt HS, Class of 2014

Harhigh is a 5-foot-7, 150-pound right-handed hitter that demonstrated a short swing path and the ability to stay inside the baseball during a solid round of batting practice. He showcased the ability to barrel the baseball consistently with a bat exit velocity of 72 mph. Harhigh went 1-for-3 with a double in game action at DeSales University. The middle infielder showed athletic actions and a quick release with throws of 70 mph across the diamond.

SS A.J. LaBella, Springside-Chestnut Hill, Class of 2016

LaBella is a 5-foot-9, 150-pound middle infielder that showed a great deal of promise. The right-handed hitter displayed a short swing path and the ability to barrel the baseball repeatedly with a bat exit velocity of 75 mph. LaBella showcased the ability to make plays on the move defensively and the ability to throw from several arm angles. He showcased good feet and a quick release with good carry to throws of 78 mph across the diamond. 

SS/3B Sean McKee, Easton HS, Class of 2015

McKee is a 6-foot, 150-pound prospect that showcased a quick release and the ability to play through the baseball with throws of 71 mph across the diamond. The right-handed hitter utilized an open stance with a lift and replace stride foot to barrel most baseballs during batting practice with a bat exit velocity of 74 mph. McKee has a short swing path to the baseball and showcased the ability to use all fields.

Josh Pittman2B/SS Josh Pittman, Central Catholic HS, Class of 2014

Pittman continued his impressive fall with several quality defensive plays in game action. The 5-foot-9, 155-pound middle infielder has a very quick release and the ability to make throws from several arm angles. Pittman has the defensive tools to be an impact defender early in his college career.

SS/RHP Nick Spangler, Spring Grove HS, Class of 2014

Spangler is a 5-foot-9, 160-pound middle infielder with athletic actions and a solid arm. He showcased quick feet and the ability to make plays on the move with throws of 76 mph across the diamond. Spangler hits from a slightly open stance with a lift and replace stride foot. He barreled the baseball consistently during a solid round of batting practice with a bat exit velocity of 85 mph.

2B/SS Ted Williams, Meadville HS, Class of 2014

Williams is a talented middle infielder with soft hands, good range and excellent feet. The 5-foot-9, 145-pound Millersville University commit showcased the top infield arm on the weekend at 83 mph across the diamond. The left-handed hitter continued to swing a hot stick this fall going 2-for-3 with a double and a triple at DeSales University.
